March Madness!

March was the month for change in the world famous Deep Range Fleet. As the Vernal Equinox passed us by and Winter changed to Spring, so did command of the USS Eagle change, with Captain Nick Cutter stepping down and handing the reins to Captain Chloe Young.

"That's all?" you may ask. "No!" I answer. The USS Taurus finished her run, and has been completely combined with the USS Leviathan-B, the USS Victory has made the move over to the SSF servers, and an art gallery wing has been added to the Library. That's all.

Ship Updates

Starbase 901

Starbase 901 is actually moving along quite nicely. I have a big batch of posts almost ready to go out! It will include such stories as: Captain Mallory has issues with child visition regarding Jonas—but Pikachu has something to say about that one! She also finally deals with her self-destructive Intel Officer, but will in make any difference to Katianna? The conflict with the Mullurans is starting to heat up and our Marines are getting ready for it—that includes Jayme's Medi-Evac Team. She's also dealing with some Rotten apples in her midst. Even Talia and Shannon deal with a few on the station. We also get some new arrivals to the station from a 100-plus years in the past... SB901 is the place for the strange and unusual! There is a lot more to what's coming, so be sure to tune in!

USS Leviathan-B

On the 17 March 2003, the USS Taurus officially ended it's first and last season. Whilst the ship still exists in cyberspace, the crew will be transferred to the USS Leviathan-B. However, the ship was not destroyed, just heavily damaged. The damage was sustained whilst attempting to escape from a group of rogue Jem'Hadar forces, forces that no-one had expected them to have. The Taurus is at Deep Space Nine awaiting a maintenance crew to take it back to Utopia Planitia for extensive repairs.

On 25th of July 2385 (RPG time) the USS Leviathan-B left Earth for the Gamma quadrant at the request of Admiral Devore. Under the temporary Captaincy of Commander T'Kul Rashad, the severely undermanned Meteor class vessel headed to the aid of the USS Taurus.

On 27th of July 2385, the USS Leviathan-B arrived in the Regial Seven system just in time to prevent the USS Taurus from being destroyed. Allowing both vessel to escape, the majority of the crew were transferred to the USS Leviathan-B, whilst Captain Taybar and a skeleton crew returned the USS Taurus to the relative safety of the Alpha quadrant and DS9.

The USS Leviathan-B continued on a course to Mirisam V, where it collected the away team sent from the USS Taurus, along with a dozen Jem'Hadar and the the 201st Expeditionary Force, 8th Battalion, Foxtrot Company, headed by Major Jon Phanan. The USS Leviathan-B then returned to DS9 where the USS Taurus was formally declared unfit to continue it's mission. Given the complex nature of the mission, fresh intelligence recovered from the rouge Jem'Hadar base and the fact that the crew of the Taurus had the best knowledge of the situation, the USS Leviathan-B and the combine crew of both ships, including the Marines were assigned to continue and complete the mission.

Serenity Colony

Serenity Colony is off to a rolling start. We've got some superlative writers who I know will come up with great stories to keep us all entertained!

A Note From Captain Taybar

The Deep Range Fleet's oldest (and newest) vessel is back. It's been a long and hard fight, but the Quantum Slipstream experiment will continue with the USS Leviathan-B. I look forward to working with old friends and new recruits alike and before we leave Deep Space Nine, there will be a promotion ceremony. Some of you already know that a promotion is in the offing, but at least one person will be getting a surprise, for both their long service to the vessels carrying the name Leviathan and to the Deep Range Fleet.
