Decks 2 and 3 house the ship's science laboratories. The aft section of Deck 3 is the Physics lab, and houses a large optical telescope, among other instruments. Communications, Botany, and Cosmology have labs on Deck 3, as well as a lab for Special Studies and a General Utility Room. There is a small lounge in the elevator lobby.
