DECK 7

Often referred to as the "Main Deck", Deck 7 houses the majority of the Eagle's personnel support systems.

Emergency Bridge

At the midpoint of the level, surrounding the computer core, is the ship's auxiliary control room. Sometimes called the "emergency bridge", this room assumes all functions of the main bridge should that Deck 1 primary fail. Normally unmanned, auxiliary control differs in configuration from the main bridge, but all duty stations are present, as is a large main viewing screen. Designed for use in extreme combat situations, this room, deep within the primary hull, is the best protected aboard ship.

Sickbay

The sickbay complex forms an aft half-ring near the center of Deck 7. All of the latest developments in Federation medical technology are represented here, may of which were only a theory only a few years ago.

Transporter Rooms

The four main transporter rooms are located on this level, two each on the port and starboard centerlines. Each has six pads on the transport platform.

Briefing Room

The main briefing room is on Deck 7. It is used primarily by command and medical personnel for discussion purposes, but also serves as a debriefing facility for newly-returned landing parties. The briefing room table features a central three-sided viewer, and a library computer console at one end for the science officer.

Brig / Armory

Adjoining the sickbay is the ship's brig. Here, prisoners can be detained in the twelve individual cells, each furnished with a bunk and basic toilet facilities. Prisoners are prevented from escaping by forcefields covering the cell doors, as well as a forcefield at the brig entrance. The Chief of Security has an office here, as well as a wardroom for the assembling and briefing of security teams.

Adjoining the brig, and outside the forcefield-guarded area is the ship's main armory. Here, handheld weaponry and other small arms are distributed for landing party or security use. This room is guarded at all times.

Engineering

The rear of Deck 7 is taken up by the lower level of Impulse Engineering and the impulse engines.

Recreation

At the port and starboard rear, on either side of Engineering, are recreation areas, featuring electronic games, library facilities, a bowling alley, a racquetball court, and a gymnasium.

The vessel's chapel is found on this level. Weddings, funerals, and other customary gatherings are held here.

Facilities

Much of Deck 7, in a wide area encircling the level, does not attain full ceiling height. This is due to the underside concave structure of the primary hull. This area houses cargo, the saucer's life support, air conditioning, battery systems, pump machinery, and fresh water tanks.
