Background

From the Florida Everglades, the most immediate thing you'll notice about him is his strong French accent like most people in the region. Paul is an expert in Archeology. He had extensively studied just about every archeological site on Earth by the time he was 26. Then, he heard of an archeological expadition Starfleet was sending into the gamma quadrant to study some archeological ruins that had bene found. Paul couldn't wait to study them so signed on as an enlisted crewman to the USS Discovery.

Once in the gamma quadrant, the survey began. It was estimated that it would take five years to complete the study, unfortuanately, an unknown species native to the sector, now known as the Pranokolites disapproved of this study in their space and cut the survey short.

The Discovery fell under continous attacks and was forced to retreat to the Alpha Quadrant. While on board, much of the senior staff was killed including the Captain and First Officer. The Chief Tactical officer took over and appointed new senior staff. With hardly any scientists left onboard either, Paul was given a Starfleet commison to Ensign and was appointed acting Chief Science officer.

When the ship returned, Starfleet Command allowed Paul to keep his rank. He would have preffered to return to work as a civilian, but realized that with Starfleet, he would have a greater opprtunity to explore unknown and unique ruins.

He transferred to the USS Toussaint L'Ouverture to under go another mission of exploration. This ship was again attacked and driven away. Tired of running. He decided he would settle on a station for a while. He was assigned to the one closest to his current position, Supply Base 901.

Aside from an obsessino for archeology, Paul also enjoys Prehistoric studies. As a kid, he could name just about every dinosaur ever discovered on Earth. So Paul is also highly skilled in xenobiology after studying a great deal of skeletal remains as a hobby. He keeps a raptor claw on a necklace around his neck at all times as a sentimental object as it was the first dinosaur bone he ever found. It had also managed to get him out of a few scrapes when he forgot to bring a weapon with him.

Paul is a very fit athlete and has numerous 'keep fit' holodeck programs. He enjoys sports a lot, particalarly football and running. He has no formal combat training, but can certainly handle himself in a fight.

Paul doesn't find it easy to make friends. He has a very controversial nature and easily offends people, so he tends to be a very solitary person and stays out of peoples way.

Cocky, self confident, and willing to challenge authority. Under this rebellion is the mind of a scientist and scholar.
