Background
Amelia was born on the 8th of December, 2354. Amelia and her parents were involoved in a shuttle accident in 2358. Both her parents died from their injuries, and it was a miracle Ameila survived. This left the three year old Amelia and her thirteen year old sister Allegra to be brought up by their aging grandparents. Her sister Allegra was in her second year at Starfleet Academy when Amelia's and her grandparents died. Allegra was currently ten years old. Unable to care for her younger sister, and continue her Starfleet career, Allegra left. The two sisters left Earth and spent the next ten years moving around the Alpha quadrant. During this time, Amelia started to experiment with computer systems and became an expert in all of the computer sciences. Allegra returned to complete her Academy training when Amelia was twenty, but was killed three years later when the shuttle she was piloting crashed.
Amelia started to offer her computer expertise to anyone who would pay. This brought her into contact with the underbelly of the Alpha quadrant, until she met Captain Jack Dawson who owned and operated a recovered Maquis raider ship the ‘USS Mystique’. Captain Dawson became a father figure to Amelia and the two of them operated a successful salvage operation until Captain Dawson was killed in 2379. Since then, Amelia has been moving around the galaxy salvaging and modifying the ‘Mystique’ alone.
Amelia’s greatest achievement is the computer system of the ‘Mystique’. This computer which Amelia calls ‘Monica’ has bio-neural circuitry and a positronic master CPU ‘salvaged’ from a Romulan prototype vessel lost in the neutral zone. Monica has the ability of independent thought and can control the ‘Mystique’ without human intervention. This has enabled Amelia to operate the ‘Mystique’ for the past four years without any help.
Amelia and the ‘Mystique’ are currently docked at Starbase 901, where the vessel is undergoing sustained during an attack by a Romulan battle cruiser. In return for providing the facilities that she needs, Amelia has taken up the offer made by Commander Wallace to act as the Starbase’s computer specialist.
