History

Matthew McKnight was born on Earth nearly 30 years ago. He spent much of his youth off the coast fishing with his father during the summer break from school. He also spent a lot of this time in the outdoors, so it wasn't any surprise to his father that Matthew decided to enlist in the Marine Corps. At the age of 18 by one day, Matthew enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2373. During his first tour Matthew did very well, earning a few medals for bravery during the Dominion Conflict and ended with the rank of Staff Sergeant. During the last six months of the Conflict, Sergeant McKnight served in the famed 1st recon platoon first Marine Division.

After the Conflict ended, McKnight was sent to the Marine Corps School of Infantry, where he served for three years. In 2378 Matthew was sent to Star Fleet Officer Candidate School where he passed and set a record for his schoolwork and physical training requirements. Upon completing the School in 2381, Matthew was assigned to Embassy duty on the Trill and Betazoid homeworlds.

In 2384, Matt, as he now went by, met and planned to marry Karen Bailey, a Federation civilian employee at the Betazoid homeworld. However, their plans were put on hold when Lieutenant McKnight was given the position of Recon Platoon leader of the Marine Corps on Star Base 901, an assignment he greatly accepted.

Practicing martial arts; reading military histories of Earth, Cardassia, Bajor, Romulans and Klingons; cooking; camping; fishing.
