She was born and raised on Tanzaria with her brother by their parents. She had a very happy life. When they were 30 years old and about ready to purse their graduate schooling, raiders attacked her world, killing 2/3's of the population. In her dimension no one found out who the Raiders were. Here, she discovered it was the Eriarti, though she still couldn't figure out why they had destroyed her world. Her parents were among the 2/3's dead. They had been murdered in front of her eyes. An image that still haunts her.
Her and her brother were severely wounded in one of the many bombs dropped by their own people trying to stop the plague the raiders had released from spreading further. Somehow, her and her brother had been found and taken aboard a freighter trying to escape the destruction. The Federation Starship USS Eagle came in answer to the distress signal and rescued her and her brother from the freighter they were on that was faltering. The engines failing.
While her brother remained in a coma, she requested to stay aboard the Eagle, though the rest of the Tanzarans rescued either returned to Tanzaria to start anew or were transferred to other worlds. Though she was seriously affected by the destruction she witnessed, she made strong connections to people onboard the Eagle. When her brother woke from his coma two months later, he too found a place aboard the ship. They made themselves useful. They stayed with the Eagle as long as they were able. But after that, neither Troy or herself had the heart to return to their homeworld, though the rebuilding was going well from what they had heard, so instead they went to Earth.
Katianna spent some of her time running around the galaxy, taking jobs here and there. She made some good investments and to this day gets money from them. Troy came with her and tried to watch out for her as best as he could. But finally, after many years, they found themselves back on Earth. They both applied for Starfleet Academy and were accepted. At that time Troy discovered his talent was still in medicine and pursued a medical career in Starfleet, while "Kat" (as her friends call her) followed the usual path, though she still had a flare for science and even medicine.
She has since been back to Tanzaria, but it was not a comfortable reunion for her. Too many memories to deal with. But her world had again become a beautiful place. Much as it had been before the destruction.
She worked her way up the chain of command from assignment to assignment and flourished as she did so. Then she was assigned as First Officer on the USS Sarek. This was a changing point in her life. For a long time she kept her heart hidden away and it began to show as she had a romance with a doctor on a space station. Then later, when she had taken an Ensign out for a training mission in a shuttle they were pulled into a subspace temporal rift. They were almost killed by the forces, but rescued by people from a world that had seen their shuttle in distress when it had entered their dimension. The two women were treated and cared for. While the Ensign was in a coma, Kat learned a lot about Temoun, the world that they were on. She also fell in love with the Prince - Arturus Pentragon, who they were guests of. When the Ensign awoke and recovered, Kat happened to learned that this world's sun was going to go super nova and the people would not evacuate their world. Kat tried to help find a way to stabilize the star, using her scientific mind. Shortly after pursuing a relationship with the prince, she became pregnant. They married and Arturus made her promise that if nothing could be done to save their world she would return back to her dimension. In her 8th months of pregnancy, the sun started to collapse and she was forced to leave with the Ensign and a servant girl. They barely make it to the rift and through it. Once through they were picked up by the Sarek and discover that they had only been gone 4 hours in their dimension. When she gave birth to Laurissa it was a bittersweet day for her, knowing Arturus would never get to see his daughter.
This was not the end of her dimensional adventures. A month later, the Sarek was pulled through a dimensional gateway. They found themselves near Earth, but not the Earth they knew. It was the wrong time. - Earth's 21st century - and the aliens there were aliens no one had ever heard of before. They were called Taelons. Katianna, on her adventure met Commander William Boone and became fast friends. Though she had been drugged and kidnaped, he had come after her and rescued her, getting her to the Sarek just in time before the drugs could kill her. They had both wished for more time together, but it wasn't to be, or so they thought. Several months later, when Katianna was doing a simple scientific survey of a nebula in a shuttle - a job she requested, she was pulled into a temporal rift. On the other side, and sustaining heavy damage to her shuttle, she found herself back in the same Earth system and was greeted by the same Taelons and Will Boone. This time, their relationship grew much closer. It broke her heart when she had to leave a month later, after she repaired her shuttle. She did accidentally cross over to this dimension one more time however, in a freak transporter accident. She learned on this trip that Will had died. It was a wound she wasn't sure she could heal from.
Six months after that the Sarek was pulled into the Delta Quadrant along with the USS Adamant through some anomaly. The Adamant made it back through, but the Sarek did not. The Sarek suffered much damage and was attacked repeatedly by different species of the Delta quadrant. Finally Katianna, her daughter and daughter's nanny were rescued by the USS Coronia. She served on there as Intelligence Officer until their ultimate demise in the Delta Quadrant as well, where she and the survivors were then rescued by the USS Aquitania. Again she was given the role of Intelligence Office. This time, however, she was approached by Section 31. She did not want to do anything for them, but Section 31 had ways to getting you to do what they want. And all they wanted her to do was Watch someone. That someone turned out to be Jovan. She was straight with him from the beginning and a friendship began to form. Soon that seemed to grow into something much more than that. They went through many adventures together. One was saving his life by finding the Orb of Kalimar so he could meld with it. The Order of the Light had given them the impression that Kalimar had been a prophet. The last adventure was going up against Sloan and the Orb of Creation, which landed them here in this dimension. She was none to sorry to leave her old dimension behind since it wasn't being too kind to her - especially her Captain that had managed to lose her complete respect and loyalty. Her only regret was not having her daughter Laurissa, and Kara, her daughter's nanny and truth be told . . . her friend with her. But once in this new universe they had been picked up by the USS Virgo. Captain Maruu, after having assessed the situation, granted them their former positions. After the Virgo was decommissioned Katianna was transferred to SB901 along with Jovan.
No one could have predicted that while going to retrieve her daughter in another dimension, Jovan would be taken over by the powers of the orb of Kalimar within him. Though Katianna got Laurissa and Kara back, the price was high. A demon was let loose. She shot him with a dark matter weapon believing that she had hurt him sufficiently . . . and killed whatever was left of Jovan. She was also pregnant with her and Jovan's child at the time, which made things more difficult for her. During her pregnancy, several factions were after her and her child. Several believed her child would bring darkness. But that wasn't the case. After Daniel's birth on Tanzaria, Katianna returned to SB901 to find Jovan wake. This however, was a deception of Kalimar's and was soon discovered. He almost killed her, but she was able to get away from him. But she was unable to stop him from releasing the Kosst Amojen and slaughtering what was left of the Bajoran Order of the Light. She survived only because Kassia and Tara had come after her. She had sworn to stop Kalimar and the Kosst Amojen, but she doesn't know how. As time goes on she feels the weight of the universe on her. How can a simple Tanzaran go up against two demons? Yet she is suppose to be the one. Only the future will tell.
