Background

Talia was born on Tivara V and raised there until the age of six. Then her family moved to Earth.. Her and her mother were always estranged. They never saw eye to eye. If Talia saw the sky as blue, her mother saw it as black. Talia never received acceptance from her mother. In fact, her mother went out of her way to make Talia feel as if she wasn't good enough, which scarred her deeply.

Her father doted on her and her brother, and she held onto that as much as she could. Her childhood was marked by her excelling in school, but also by fighting the local bullies that would pick on her friends. She always stood up for those that could not stand up for themselves. On at least two occasions, she'd broken noses.

As a teenager, she stopped a boy from raping her best friend and nearly killed him. Because of what he had been trying no charges were brought against Talia. Her friend had some mild injuries and some emotional trauma, which could have been much worse had Talia not been there.

Her and her brother Marcus were always every close and he was always the shoulder she cried on when their mother was too much for her to handle. He was the one who helped her decide on Starfleet, after he joined. Their father was thrilled, though her mother was not. Shortly after Talia graduated the academy, she was informed that her mother had died. Her heart had given out from a condition that had been undetected. She was upset, because she did love her mother, but also because now she'd never have the chance to gain her mother's approval. Her father tried to console her, but Marc was the one that helped her the most.

Based on her abilities, she transferred to the Marines where she was sent for special training. She became a pilot in VMF - 228th, where she met Jacob McIlhenny. They began a relationship, which ended on a not so good note. She was transferred to the 58th after that and was never told what had happened to Jakey.

She's still with the 58th Hammerheads and doing well. Her squad was transferred to SB901 and she's enjoyed the new locale. She keeps in regular touch with her brother, his family and her father. Jakey was recently transferred to the Squad. Her and Jakey have started up their relationship once again. But no one can tell where this one will go.

Personality

Talia can be quite likable and she can hang out with almost anyone. She can drink almost anyone under the table. She doesn't get an attitude though. The only time her aggressive tendencies come out is when someone is threatened. Because of her telepathic abilities, hand-to-hand combat she excels at, though her piloting skills are top notch. She enjoys company, but you won't find her opening up a lot about her life. She talks a lot in the moment. She loves animals and kids. She's very protective of children as well. If you are her friend, you are her friend for life. She enjoys the holodeck, music from all over the galaxy. She loves to read and shop. She's never had a serious relationship, though she has had relationships. Outwardly she is very friendly and fun-loving, but it still takes a bit to get her to consider you a friend. She can be reckless when aggressive tendencies take over, though that is on the rare side.
