Background

Len was born on a ship travelling to Barius IV. He, he brother and his parents were going to take residence on at the new colony, since their father was a farmer and a good one. However, after they lived there for awhile his mother fell ill. The doctors had limited supplies and she died before help could arrive. Len was 6 six. His brother was 11 and they both took it very hard. Their father became almost incapable of feeling anything. He just woke up, did his work and barely managed to supply the kids with meals and clean clothes. He didn't have enough in him to show them any love or to grief with them. A woman from the colony took the boys in as best as she could, but they were seriously troubled. When Jace was fifteen, he ran away and no one heard from him again. Len, began getting into scraps at school and started hanging with the wrong elements. As soon as he turned sixteen, he left Barius on the next freighter leaving and was never spoke to his father again.

After that, he bounced around from planet to planet, space station to space station. He lived by taking odd jobs and doing some criminal activities, though nothing that would actually harm anyone other than another criminal. At one point, he had a problem with drugs, but kicked those by himself. When he came aboard Supply Base 901 he had no intentions of sticking around. But he had gotten involved in some of the scams on the station. He had taken some of the bad elements for some money. He had never thought they would try to kill him. That night, when Kassia saved his life, it gave him a serious wake-up call. Since then, he has totally turned his life around. He takes honest jobs and has been studying to be a medic. He is even starting to make serious attachments with others, something he hasn't done since he was a child.

He also has some minor problems with his site and prefers to wear glasses than have the minor procedure done. He says he likes how he looks in the old fashioned glasses.
