Nathan was walking outside the grounds of Star Fleet Head Quarters,he was to meet his old Commanding Officer, when he was on the USS Robert E Lee.
It was a nice comfertable fall day in the Bay. Nathan was staring at a group of Cadets being drilled by a Senior chief. It brought back fond memorys of his acadamy days.
Nathan was wearing his uniform again and was wearing his second solid pip. He thought he didn't have a chance of earning it after the incdent on DS2.
"Morning Lieutenant." Nathan turned to see his old Captain, now starting to show signs of age in his hair.
"Captain Roberts. How are you sir?" Nathan extended his hand.
"I'm alright, I miss being in space at times, but it's good to think of my famliy first. I am here to inform you of a new assignment. This one came from Admrial Picard. You're to be chief tactical officer on Star Base 901. They need someone who can adapt and over come any situation, as you have in the past."
Captain Roberts handed Lieuteant Call a PADD and then took a seat on the bench next him.
"SB901 is located on the other side of the Briar Patch in an area that is unexplored. Much of the surrounding area belongs to the Son'a. They aren't much of threat, they are locked in bitter rivals with factions of their own government. The Base's job is to protect the trade ships and protect federation intrest."
Roberts stood up and then started to walk towards the garden over looking the bay. Call followed him. "You see the Fedration will be isolated from knowledge about going ons, in that area of space. We need you.That incdent on DS2 wasn't your fault.This is your chance for you to get back into the run of things."
Nathan hated hearing about the DS2 incdent but he knew that captain Roberts was right.
"Sir I'll be ready for duty when ever you need me sir."
"Very well you leave in three days,on board the USS Kitty Hawk."
Call did not know how to handle the news. He was afraid of being rejected for assignment but was more affraid of being assigned again.
