"I will speak with you further tommrow at the same time, Commander Nevar," Lieutenant Nugent said to Commander Nevar as he left her office. She sat back and thought for a minute about the session, but had no way to actualy understand Commander Nevar's experinces for she had never experinced anything like them.
"Computer, name current personel assigned to Supply Base 901 that have served in the Dominion War or in Borg Campaigns, except for Commander Pol."
<Working task complete. Lieutenant Commander Vince Kelly served in three Dominion campaigns, no borg Campaigns.
Lieutenant Nathan Call served in six Dominon campaigns, two Borg campaigns.>
"Computer, that'll do." She tapped her comm badge and called for Lieutenant Call.
After waiting for almost an hour, he finally came to her office. "Yes, how can I help you?" He asked as he took a seat.
"Nathan, I need to ask you about your combat experinces, so I can have some basis when I should talk to those who have been in battle."
Nathan took a deep breath. He hated speaking of his experinces but he knew he wouldn't be able to hide for ever. "Well, it's different for each person. For me, I was more affraid of ordering men to their own death then dying myself."
Nugent made a few notes on her PADD, and then asked about what he said. "So you're more afraid of killing your friends then dying yourself?"
Call scratched his head and tried to put it a diffrent way. "Well, yes and no. I'm affraid of making a bad judgement and having it cost in human terms." Call then noticed the marks on Le'Chell signifying her Trill heritage and he added, "Or what ever race they are."
She made a few more notes and then continued questioning and discussing with him. After about thrity minutes she said, "That's all I need for now. Thank you so very much. And, of course, my door is always open should you feel the need to discuss your battle scars any more."
Call nodded an agreement and thank her for the invitation. After he left Nugent made some more comments in her PADD. Lieutenant Call and Commander Nevar share the same feelings and yet have both made the same choice. And yet one excapes by a drug and one escapes into his work. This will be a very interesting and enlitening tour.
