"OK," said the commander, making a decision. "Loran, you take the Lambda Flier and a security team to the Hood. Kelly, you go with and make sure you get those hostages. Then make your way back home and we'll release the Hood and send her flying. Got it?" The crew nodded in compliance. "Good, now get moving before I change my mind again."
"Aye sir," Garek said, swinging in his chair. Accessing the Engineering control panel, Garek was able to amplify some power output, and get a quick communication through to Woodrow Murphy. "Mr. Murphy?"
[Yes Commander? What in the hell is going on, sir?]
"No time to explain. I've only got a temporary communication channel up between you and me. I need you to get internal and external communications up and running IMMEDIATLY. I'm counting on you."
[I'm on it sir. Not a problem.] The channel went staticky, and then closed. Turning in his chair once again, he turned towards Commander Jeffreys. "Sir, I've got one of my best engineers on it now."
"We best get moving," Garek said.
"Indeed," Kelly replied. "Harper, come with us." The three then made their way to Garek's office.
Sitting in the pilot's chair, the Lambda Flier hummed to life as the fusion reactors and warp core powered up. Commander Kelly was sitting next to him in the co-pilot's seat. Looking out into the open bay infront of him, he noticed the running lights of the Hood flickering, along with the cabin lights. The umbilicals and docking tubes were getting ready to disconnect from the vessel. Tractor beams were holding her in place. Powering up, Garek piloted the craft foward, out of the Lambda Flier's personal docking bay.
The Lambda Flier flew close to the Hood, flying along the dorsal side of the ship, skimming the primary hull. Garek pulled up, and came around into a lazy turn, lining up with the rear docking bay of the ship. He then turned his chair to face the communications panel. Entering the access codes for the Hood, he was able to access the computer core, and in turn open the shuttlebay doors. As soon as the doors opened, he was greeted by the phaser fire from two Son'a soldiers firing through the MAGCON field. Perfect, Garek said to himself. "Kelly, can you do a little evasive manuevering?"
"I can handle that." Taking control, Kelly manuevered the ship out of the way of the phaser blasts of the two soldiers. Garek accessed deflector control, and hit a few buttons. Within moments, the two Son'a were clutching their ears, and they both fell to the floor unconsious.
"What did you do?"
"I sent ultra high radio frequency waves in their direction. It through out their equilibrium, and under that type of stress, you get knocked unconsious."
"You didn't need to explain it," Kelly replied with a small smirk.
"Suit yourself." Garek took over the controls once again, and landed the big shuttle in the bay of the Hood. The two the made their way into the rear of the craft where the security team of ten men, including Patrick Harper, were powering up compression rifles. Garek picked up two rifles, handing one to Kelly, who then turned to face the security personnel.
"Alright, this is it. If you encounter the enemy, do not hesitate the fire. We'd like to take prisoners, but if your phaser isn't set to stun when you shoot, I couldn't care less. Crewman Roberts?"
"Yes sir?" One of the security officers replied.
"You are to stay here with Commander Loran in the Shuttlebay. We're going to be sending any survivors back this way. You can use the Lambda Flier's transporter systems to get them back onboard the station for help. We have two major goals here: one, get friendlies off the ship and capture it; two, eradicate the enemy. Any questions?" He slowly looked around into the eyes of the group assembled. "Good. Let's go." Kelly made his way to the rear of the Lambda Flier and opened the egress hatch. Looking around he exited, and nine personnel followed, one staying behind with Garek. Hopefully, this would be over soon enough.
