Commander Wallace was outside Admiral's quarters. Admiral McCaffee was still onboard SB901 until the actual word from Star Fleet Command, that Stated the change of command was approved. Wallace stepped up to the door and pressed the chime."Enter" Commander Wallace walked in and stood at attention and stated the nature of the visit. The Admiral was still packing her bag with PADDs.
"Sir your shuttle is ready to leave as soon as your ready Admiral."
"Thanks Commander, I'll be on my way to the shuttle in a few minutes. I've also got this from command." McCaffee handed Wallace a PADD.
"By order of Admiral William Ross, Commander Richard Wallace is to accept the positions of Station Commander on Supply Base 901. " He smiled as he read it aloud.
"I take it your retirement will be put off for awhile." McCaffee said looking over the Commander in his read uniform.
"You've given the Colonist the go ahead. Why?"
"Well sir because they've been waiting awhile and, we can't hold them back forever." Richard said walking towards the door.
"Then that's your first real Command decision you've made. Your a talented officer Commander, and you've proved it over the past few weeks. Now lets see if I've got everything." The Admiral said looking around her quarters, and seeing nothing of hers. McCaffee picked up her duffle and made her way to the doorway. "Shall we go?" Richard pressed the button to open the door the two walked to the turbolift. In the turbolift McCaffee looked over Wallace again.
"Red is a good color for you."
"Thanks, however I only know very little about Commanding others." Richard replied.
"Don't worry every commander leads diffrently. How's the Arizona refit going?" McCaffee asked trying to see what has been going over the past week.
"It's coming along, she will be ready for test runs in a week."
The turbolift stopped at the Docking Bay, the two walked over to the airlock where the Type 8 shuttle was. The two veteran officers turned to each other.
"Well Admiral, here is your stop I guess."
"Thanks for the escort and keep your options open." McCaffee extended her hand and Wallace quickly shook it. He watched the airlock seal and saw the shuttle lift off.
Now I'm all alone out here nobody to turn to for advice. Oh I have Garek to turn to but not like the Advice of an Admiral.
