After studying the information Wallace, gave to Kelly. He had discovered many things about the new people on the station. He sat infront of the Commander and informed him of his findings.
"These people that call themselves Gorialicians are by nature peaceful and loving people. They have had a hard time setting up a Republic over the past 75 years, with attempted coups, and Military revolts."
"Why so many revolts and coups." Wallace asked.
"Some believe that because of their hard past with the Son'a and some other Species, that they should be a strong Empire in this sector." Kelly replied.
Wallace shook his head and went over to the replicator and ordered a cup of coffee.Kelly continued his reading of data.
"They have Government now based on Bajor's and Cardassian Republic of 2372. Their Military is rather small now, only two Brigades of ships, some 34 in all. In 2356 they ended a 13 year War with the Son'a by inflicting over 50% damage to Ru'afo's fleet. However, their resources were almost exhausted, three ships tried to reach the other side of the Patch but none were herd from again." Kelly placed the PADD on the desk.
"So what is your take on them are they a threat or friend?" Cmdr Wallace asked.
"No, Giving their technology it's safe to say they are not a threat. It seems that their religion keeps them together for some reason. And it preaches 'Do on to others as you would like done unto you.'"
It was quite for a minute and as he looked as the Federation Flag in his office and he thought about what Kelly had said.
"Very well, allow them to roam the Commerce area freely and tell them that I'd like to propose a treaty between the Federation and the Gorialic Republic," Wallace said, tucking his tunic down.
"Sir, do you have the power to do that?"
"Yes in the interest of peace in this sector."
"What kind of treaty sir?"
"A trade treaty and a medical aid if need be."
"Yes sir, but what will the Son'a do when they get word of this?"
"You have your orders." Wallace said opening the door giving the message to get out of his office.
