The two men had made their way from the forest and found a water source. The scource was a 12 meter wide stream and 2 meters deep, moving at a rather fast pace. Parker scanned around with his tricorder and mapped the scource of the stream. Some thirty Kilometers from their present postion, the water came from a large group of mountians.
"Okay well the water is a bit further then the town. They will have to run some sort of irrigation system." Harper said sitting down and taking his pack off.
"Maybe not." Parker scanned the area srounding the stream, and saw that the water flowed in a underground caverans, some 10 Kilometers deep. He then followed it up by cross checking on his tricorder. "That's it the underground water flow ends thirty years from the town. They can easily tap the water from there." Parker then took a drink of the water with his hand from the stream.
Harper was enjoying the view all around him, in a way it reminded him of home on the New Ireland colony he spent his first 18 years of life on. "Come on sir we better get back to the colonist building site and inform them of the information we've gathered."
Harper got up and unzipped his tunic and stuck it in his pack. The temprature was quickly starting to rise, it was now 76 degrees Feregnheit and the humidity was at 100%. Harper wasn't used to that type of weather. His home was usally around 69 degrees Feregnheit and never hotter then 50 during the winter months.
Ensign Parker then stood up and agreed with the Security crewman, and started to make their way back to camp.
