Earthdate: March 9, 2384
Location: Sickbay

Slowly, one eye opened. Soon enough, the next one as well. The bright lights of Sickbay onboard SB901 shown in to Garek's eyes, making him wince. He rolled his head towards his left, opening them slowly once again to see Ensign Galloway in the Chief Medical Officer's office. Doctor Cherrin had gone to "New Canada" and left her in charge. Galloway looked through the glass window in the office to see Garek looking at her. She grinned and rose from her seat, walking over to Garek's bed. "I trust you're feeling better?"

"You have no idea," Garek replied, grinning. He began to sit up, but Galloway pushed him down in the bed.

"I think not Commander," she replied. "You've gone through some severe trauma localized in your brain. I was able to repair the damage, but it looks like you're going to need some rest."

Garek thougt about it for a moment. Reporting back to work, or resting in Sickbay. It was a tough decision.... "Alright, you win Ensign. I would like to know how I got back here."

"Lieutenant Nugent and Lieutenant Call flew you back," Galloway replied. She looked at the readings on the bio bed's medical sensors. "They left your shuttle in the main docking bay and took a Type X back."

"Superb...." Garek said outloud, somewhat graugily. "I'll have to go move it."

"It can wait," she replied. "Try and get some more sleep, alright?"

"Yes ma'am," Garek replied with a smile. Ensign Galloway made her way back to the office. A slight snap-hiss was heard as the door to Sickbay opened. The steady thud of boots on carpeting could be heard as the figure made their way towards Garek's bio bed. Garek opened his eyes again, this time to see Commander Wallace.

"Looks like you had an interesting time in 'New Canada'." Richard looked over his executive officer. "She also said you suffered some weird type of head trauma. Any idea about that?"

"I don't know Rich," Garek replied. "You know I'm not a doctor. Something was weird though."

"Really?" Rich asked. He rolled over a chair and sat down. "What was weird?"

"When I was looking at this thing, something happened. I saw this creature standing there, and mentally, I saw it standing in front of me. I thought about picking it up and thowing it against boulder near the tree line. All of a sudden I open my eyes from this weird trance, and I see the thing next to the boulder, just like in my mind. Next thing I know, I'm passed out."

Rich sat there, looking at Garek. Quickly, he went through his mind thinking of how he was going to tell his friend what happened. "Garek, you through that feline creature."

Garek chuckled as best he could given his current situation. "You're joking. I was a meter from that thing. Not close enough to grab it. Also, Betazoid's don't possess ability to move things with their minds. Telekenesis. Pffpf."

Richard folded up a display screen from the side of the bed and tilted it so Garek could see it. "I want you to look at this." The image on the screen was Garek and the creature about a meter and a half apart. "This was recorded by Counselor Nugent." The image came to life. The creature pounced at Garek and got extremely close to his face when it stopped, hanging in mid air. The creature then was tossed through the air and slammed up against a boulder near the forest tree line. Then, Garek moved, and toppled over. "What do you think of that?"

"I have no idea," Garek replied. His eyes were affixed to the display in front of him. "That would explain the horrible headache."

"Garek," Richard interrupted him. I want you to picture, in your mind, that hypospray over there." Rich pointed across the Sickbay to a hypospray on the table.

"Ok, got it," Garek replied. His eyes were closed, deep in thought. The hypospray was on the table in his mind. Slowly, but surely, the hypospray lifted off of the table. Richard watched the hypospray as it lifted off the table. It moved closer to the biobed, and eventually dropped on to the end of the bio bed. Garek awoke, and looked at the edge of the bio bed. "Whoah..."

"Something tells me that somehow, you've picked up telekentic abilities," Richard stated.

"That's impossible though," Garek replied, nearly arguing. "My dad was a normal human, and my mom was a Betazoid."

"It might have something to do with your extended family. Grandmothers, grandfathers... If anyone in the past might have 'helped' to give you these abilities, I bet they're there somewhere."

Garek rolled his eyes. "Unless there's something I don't know about, My dad's parents were normal, and so were there parents, and so on and so forth. I don't remember seeing any aliens in my family line except for mom." He sighed as he rested his head on his pillow. "What do you think?"

Richard grinned. "Looks like a new stage in human evolution."

Garek laughed. "Right.... I'll be sure to hold that against you sometime down the line."

Richard smiled. "Get better 'Number One'. I've got a stack of paper work to do." Rich then turned, and made his way out of the Sickbay.

Turning his attention to the hypospray at the foot of his bed, Garek closed his eyes, and extended his arm and hand towards the hypo. Slowly, the device lifted off of the bed, and floated across the room, knocking the glass window. Ensign Galloway, somewhat startled, turned to see the hypospray fall to the ground, and Garek open his eyes. He grinned, and layed back down in the bed. Galloway shook her head, and returned to her work.
