Razek sat at the combination control panel that was both Engineering and the pulse phaser cannons. He ran over the ships status several times and saw that everything was good to go, and fully operational. The engineers did a great job in less then a months time, however the thought of battle came very real, after hearing the mission briefing a little while ago.
It made Ethan wonder why a respected man such as Commodore Walker would risk everything he fought for. Also, the idea of being in battle seemed very real. Cadet Razek did very well in the drills and test at the academy. He knew the battle on a holodeck was programed to run a certain way. He also knew battle was unpredictable as well.
"Okay Cadet your relieved for a while." A voice from behind him called out.
It was Ensign Parker. It was Razek's break to eat or get some personel time to himself for awhile. Basicly to him it was a screw off break of 20 minutes. Ethan went into the mess hall and strait over to the replicator and ordered a Cup of juice and a sandwhich. He took his meal and sat by a human Petty Officer. "Mind if I sit sir?"
"No take a load off." The young Petty Officer said as moved a PADD out of the Cadet's way.
"I've never meet you before sir. By your gold uniform your either security or an engineer. I'm Ethan a cadet on a field tour." Ethan said smiling.
The Petty Officer gave a friendly warm smile and set a PADD down and took a sip of his coffee.
"Well I'm Engineer, one of the many talented men who got this baby going. I'm Murphy, you can call me Murph for short."
"Sir I've never been in battle and hope I do this crew rightm" Ethan said and then took a bite from his sandwich.
"Ah don't worry just keep your head on your job, and you'll do fine." Petty officer Murph said getting back to a PADD.
"That's fine advise, but not easy to live by."
"Hey listen up Cadet you keep worrying about what won't or will happen you'll foul up."
Ethan sat back and thought about it for awhile. He didn't talk much and finished his meal and went back to work.
