The Wellington had sent it's men down and the jamming of the comm channels began for the Wellington's crew that beamed down.
"Alright, let's take off, shields at maximum strength. Come to a course of mark 034 bearing 90," Wallace said, sitting in the
Command chair tapping his fingers on the arm of his chair.
Kelvin sat at the helm and went ahead and started taking off procedures. The Arizona came up and took off at full thruster strength.
"Sir we are 3 kilometers from the surface sir," Kelly said.
The Arizona exited the atmosphere and approached the Wellington from the rear some 15,000 meters away.
"On screen." Wallace ordered.
The Wellington came on to the view screen win a standard orbit of the planet. Kelly had a feeling of guilt that this had gone this far. "Cadet lock phrasers on the Wellington's impulse drive," Richard said looking at Cadet Razek.
"Aye Aye sir." Razek said.
"Kelly lock onto the port nacelle with a photon torpedo."
Kelly went ahead and locked a torpedo on the Wellington, knowing the damage that it would do. Basically, Wallace was planning to cripple the Wellington's way of escaping.
"Fire. Cadet!" Wallace yield as he stood up out of the Command chair. The phaser's fired from the pulse phaser cannon, three burst hit their mark, causing the impulse engines to explode. "Fire torpedo Kelly." A torpedo fired and flew towards it's target and hit the middle of the port nacelle with devastating effect. Plasma began to leak out of the Wellington as the Arizona passed over the Intrepid class ship.
"Fire phaser's at your leasure." Phaser's fired away and hit the Wellington's in the aft section, causing minor explosions on the hull of the Wellington.
"Sir, we inflicted 32% damage to the Wellington. It appears we caught them by surprise sir. Your orders sir?" Kelly turned his chair and looked at Wallace who was trying not to hold back orders. Vince felt strange he just fired on a friendly ship. Then a alarm beeped and brought him back to reality. "Sir they are raising shields at 70% and are scanning for us with no luck."
