"The Infamous Monica"

Author: Lieutenant Commander Garek Loran
Earthdate: March 25, 2384
Location: Supply Base 901

Garek stood at the docking port as the engineering team arrived. Ten young crewman arrived, each carrying enough equipment to retrofit a Galaxy class starship. Garek only grinned and shook his head. "Everything but the kitchen sink, eh boys?"

"Sir?" one asked.

"Nevermind." Garek turned his attention to the closed access tube. He punched in a security clearence and his access code and the the door opened. The small group made their way down the docking tube to the Mystique's outer hull access port. Garek entered a few command codes in to the access panel. As expected, the codes didn't go through, and the door didn't open. Typical, Garek thought to himself. He pulled a tool out of his left pant leg cargo pocket. He put the tool up to the command panel and it finally accepted. The door opened revealing the interior of the Mystique.

As expected, the Mystique displayed the standard grey of Federation made vessels. He pulled out his tricorder instinctively and began scanning. The rest of the engineering team flowed in behind him. The group made their way in different directions. A few went aft towards engineering, some forward to the Bridge. Garek made his way towards the different compartments onboard the vessel. He made his way past the small galley and up to the living areas. He noticed two rooms immediatly. He opened one of the doors. It revealed the personal items of a single crewmember. He opened the next door and it revealed nothing. Garek went and inspected the other crew quarters onboard the vessel. All were empty except for the one. Funny. There's only items for one crewmember onboard, yet from the communications earlier, there were two people onboard.

Garek went back in to the room with the personal items in it and began to sift through the different items. There were multiple things from PADDs to models to diagrams. A stuffed teddy bear was even present on one of the top shelves.

"It's not nice to go through other people's things."

Garek looked around. He noticed he was all alone. "Must be hearing things."

"That's what you think."

He looked around again, slightly nervously. "Who are you?"

"Monica."

"Nice to meet you Monica. Where might you be located at?"

"Here, actually."

Garek looked around the room. No one was present. "Really? I don't see you."

"I'm surprised. I'm right in front of you."

"You're not making this real easy," Garek commented to the disembodied voice. He looked around and finally realized something. "You're the Mystique aren't you?"

"Depends on how you look at it Mister Loran. I am in the Mystique, yet a different person all together."

"Cryptic answer," Garek replied. "Don't suppose you could tell me the specifics."

"You want a girl to give away all her secrets the first time she meets someone?"

Garek grinned. "No, I don't suppose I do. I'm not here to be a bother. Captain Wallace just wanted me to inspect the ship, and that's what I'm here to do."

"I guess I will just have to talk to Captain Wallace."

"I'm sure that he'd like that," Garek replied. "If you don't mind, might I just get your technical readouts on this PADD here." Garek removed a PADD from one of the cargo pockets in his pants.

"If it'll get you to leave," Monica replied. The PADD lit up and began displaying technical schematics of the Mystique.

"Thank you," Garek replied. "I'll call off my team, and we'll be on the move."

"I appreciate it."

Garek tapped his commbadge. "Engineering team Alpha Seven, this is Commander Loran. Everyone off of the Mystique. I have all the information I need." He received the scattered acknowledgements, and the engineers began to make their way off of the ship. Garek made his way out of the room, and to the airlock. He stepped off the ship, and closed and locked the airlock behind it. It was time to report his findings to Commander Wallace.
