Dr. Alistair Cherrin was working up quite a sweat trying to fulfill Captain Wallace's order. Cherrin, along with most of the crew from SB901, was currently on New Canada trying to help the colonists defend themselves against the Son'a. So far the Son'a weren't making things easy for the colonists. Just moments ago, Cherrin stumbled across what looked like a mass execution site that contained the numerous bodies of the former colonists of New Canada. The site was not one that was lovely to behold.
Currently, Cherrin, along with the remainder of the Starfleet personnel in his area, was concentrating his efforts on helping Captain Wallace prepare for a "last stand" against the So'na.
"Captain," said Alistair to Wallace as he neared the Captain's position in the center of the town, "I've finished collecting the necessary supplies that you requested. We should be able to hold out here for at least seven days with the materials at hand."
"Good work, Doctor." Said Wallace as he turned to face Alistair with a look of caution in his eyes as he continuously scanned the horizon for signs of the So'na invaders. "Check in with Sovick to make sure that he is making progress with the fortifications I've ordered."
"Yes, sir." Replied Alistair as he looked around the town to get his bearings. He was about to leave, when he sensed something from Wallace. "Captain, are you feeling OK?" asked Alistair as he turned to face Wallace before leaving. Wallace, who was standing about a meter away from Alistair, was still scanning the horizon when Alistair spoke up. Obviously taken aback by the comment,
Wallace answered, "You weren't poking around in my mind, were you Doctor?"
"No sir," quickly answered Alistair, "it's just that I sensed a rather strange, overpowering sensation from you a moment ago. I just wondered if you were OK."
"I'm fine, Doc." Answered Wallace in a curt tone. "It's just that I think that I've spotted our enemies just outside of town. They know we're here, and now they know what we're doing."
An uneasy moment of silence lingered as the full weight of Wallace's words sank deep into Alistair's mind. Finally Wallace broke the silence after a couple of very uneasy moments.
"Inform Sovick that we've been discovered."
