"Garek, I hate to leave you again. However it has been almost 8 days since last contact with the Darwin."Richard said walking back over to his desk.
"Well sir, your duty is to protect everything with in our power. So you aren't leaving me alone. How long do you think the trip will take?" Garek said putting his empty cup into the replicator.
"About a day and half. If it's more I'll let you know. Also we should receive some more grunts before the week is out. Also Admiral Pike is sending Banshee Squadron for a few months."
Wallace took his seat behind his desk, and pulled up the view screen, and then looked up at Garek.
"Fine sir, I'll mind the store for a while. Well I talk to you later then. I'm going to go and visit Murphy."
"Alright till then."
Richard pressed a button on his computer and the Starfleet logo, pooped up.
"Captain Tarik, come in. This is Captain Wallace."
It was quite for a few minutes. Then Tarik appeared on the monitor.
[Go ahead sir.]
"I'm going out on the Arizona, to search for a missing Federation Science vessel. I want you to join me. "
[Fine sir, mopping up operations are basicly done. Found a few pockets of resistance, nothing major.]
"Fine meet me on the Bridge of the Arizona at 1930 hours. Wallace out."
The screen went blank and Richard stood up and stepped out on the office, and saw Kelly hard at work. "Commander Kelly join me on the Arizona in 20 minutes." Wallace said to him.
"Aye aye sir." Kelly responded back.
"Lieutenant Nugent I'd like you there as well. Mister Razek join her as well."
Richard was on the bridge of the Arizona and saw Razek at the helm, and Nugent manning communications. Tarik was at Tactical two, and Kelly manned OPS/Engineering.
"Cadet take us out at warp factor 6.5 last known location of the USS Darwin."Wallace ordered
"Aye Aye Sir." Razek responded.
After flying at warp speed for a 35 Minutes, Wallace left the bridge for his ready room. Nugant came in and sat in front of Wallace's desk, with a look of being unhappy. "Captain, it's been five days and you've yet to visit your wounded officers, and crew. Why? And Captain Tarik you haven't even said a word to him, and me not even 3 words other then work." Le'Chell said
"Lieutenant I am busy trying to do my job. Friends get in the way of ones job. So in other words, leave me alone." Wallace said in a curt tone.
"Fine sir, but remember this. Your well being affects this crew." With those words Nugent walked out. Richard knew she was right. Fact was he felt bad about the events on New Canada, he keep going over and over in his head the possibilities if he had done something different. Now here he was looking for a friend that he had put in harms way.
