The Arizona had docked 5 days ago, with the USS Darwin in tow. The Sutherland, had left the area around SB901 and went back to the otherside of the Briar Patch. Commander Garek, was working on the Darwin, trying to get her space worth again. He estimated 3 weeks before repairs could be finished. The 12 surviving crew members headed back to earth on the Sutherland.
Richard was in his office and finishing up a few reports. He had spent the last four days going over the wreckage looking for any sign of his friend, and found none. The door peeped to his office, and Richard looked up, and saw a few people waiting to see him. One was a female Lieutenant, and the other was a Marine.
"Enter,."
The female officer came in alone and stood at attention.She wore a red uniform, and a comm badge that Wallace had seen once before.
"Sir Lieutenant Lee Carter CAG of Banshee Squadron." She handed over a PADD.
"So the infamous Banshee. I hope your service will be as outstanding as usual." Wallace said, shaking her hand.
"Sir may I say it's an honor serving under your command." Carter said getting ready to leave.
"Why do you feel that way?" Wallace asked, he wasn't sure how to take that.
"Well, you were known, and still known for your actions during the Dominion War.""
Wallace hated hearing that, and dismissed the Lieutenant. That was a topic he didn't discuss very often. Not even to Garek.
"Sir Master Sargent John Heartman. reporting as order." The older man said stepping in, and standing at attention. He wore an old hat thst Richard had seen in photographs.
"At ease." Richard grabbed the PADD, and read his orders.
"Says here your to instructor Marines, and serve as battalion NCO."
"Aye sir." Heartman replied.
"Very well, report to Deck 5 that is the Battlion HQ." Wallace said taking his seat at his desk.
"Aye, Aye sir."
