Ethan was excited to have been assigned this mission. He was still eager for the excitement of combat. Even though he had been once by the Son'a. Ethan still had the boyish and greenish fresh faced attitude towards war. He manned his post at the front of the bridge with a very keen and watchful eye. The Arizona had been into its mission for 6 and half hours the ship was just entering the Star System. According to Razek's scans they would be within scanning and visual range of the planet in less than 2 hours. Captain Wallace was in his ready room. The Vulcan Lieutenant was in command of the bridge. He was over by the science station running a diagnostic on the science station. The Science station would be as much important as any one of the two tactical stations.
"Lieutenant. We are entering the star system now." Razek said very loud from his station.
"Very well. Helm all stop." Sovick tapped his comm badge. "Captain we are entering the star system."
Captain Wallace walked out of his ready room, and went over to where his chair was. "Ensign Razek report."
"We are an hour and 34 minutes away from the Morristown settlement." Ethan reported.
Wallace turned and looked at Sovick. "No enemy ships with in range. I am however picking up several more. They appear to be 11 hours from weapons range. I can't seem to tell if they are warship or cargo ship. "The sound of disappointment was hard to hide from Sovick's voice.
"How long?" Wallace asked taking his seat.
"It will take 6 hours to get an accurate scan."
"Very well. Helm take us to that planet full impulse. Mister Razek began active scanning of the planets, look for humanoid life signs, and see if you can tell if they are the colonists. Also scan for any military activity on those planets. Lieutenant Sovick, you have the bridge. Alert me when we reach Morristown. "
Ethan began scanning; his scans were very extensive. He was also getting massive amounts of data. Most of it relating to control of the Star System. He downloaded it into the Arizona's computer, and into a series of PADDs.
When the Arizona had reached orbit of the planet Wallace ordered massive s scans of where the Morristown settlement was. The data was down loaded, and really wasn't given a hard look over. Though Razek did give it a brief look over and informed the Captain of the scan's results. Lieutenant Sovick, Captain Wallace and Ensign Razek were in the conference room to discuss the early findings of the Morristown colony. It was Razek's first real briefing he was giving.
"Morristown is held by 73 Jem'Hadar. They have also laved earth works outside the city. I don't dectect any of the Colonists here. I was able to pick up a few brief communication messages. Those ships we detected earlier are three Cargo ships escorted by one Mullura cruiser. They contain supplies for all the planets in this sector. It also appears that the Moon they orbiting the third planet host a communication relay station. Only 32 Jem'Hadar hold that planet. The Second moon on the L Class planet also host a dilthuim mining plant." Razek showed the information on the view screen and was very much showing his look of joy in giving out this information.
"We need to move into those planets orbit and check their defenses." Sovick said looking at the planet that held the relay station."
"Ensign encode this information and send it to Supply Base 901 in Vulcan." Wallace said closing the view screen.
This intrigued both Razek, and Sovick. "Why Vulcan?" Sovick asked.
"Incase it's intercepted by the enemy. I don't know any Jem'Hadar who knows or reads Vulcan. Let alone a species we ourselves don't know."
"Ensign I want to hurt these Jem'Hadar. How long will the Sensor masking system hold up?"
"Garek said it could remain on for up to 42 hours before secondary power is rerouted to the system." Razek said as if nothing was wrong with the sensor masking system.
"All right Let's jump from planet to planet spending about two hours getting the planetary defenses mapped out. We'll use warp speed.
After that we'll seat the ship in the L-Class planet Atmosphere and shut the Masking device off. That'll have to give it enough time to recharge it self. The planet's storms and magnetic field will help hide us.
When the enemy goes to make a supply run they'll be hit and knocked out before they know their dead." Wallace said in a low and rough tone, walking out of the Briefing room after informing the two other officers of his intentions.
