Richard waited till his staff was all in the room together. His staff had grown by two new senior officers. Commander Mallory and Major Boyle. Both seemed to be capable officers. As the group took their assigned seats Captain Wallace went to work.
"Tomorrow at 0430 hours we head out to find the G'Kar. We are to avoid enemy patrols and make a treaty with the G'Kar.
Captain Roberts' goal is for us to make allies with these people and to force the Jem'Hadar into a surrender. The Jem'Hadar will be hit harder from now on then the Mullura. We must still however remind the Mullura we are around.
Lieutenant Anderson will lead a Company of Marines to hit one of the two Jem'Hadar white factories. Colonel Tarik will have the plans finalized by 2100 hours tomorrow."
Tarik leaned forward and raised his hand slightly to speak. "What will my role be in this raid?"
"Colonel I know you want to lead this, but your a senior officer in the infantry. Your job is to coordinate the evacuation of the wounded and departure. We'll work the plans out later in your head quarters after this briefing. Commander Carter take three of your squadron members and have them report to their Arizona Duty station, by 0430 hours. Major Boyle will participate in this raid as well. We'll go over the details later.Commander Mallory your joining us on the Arizona. Commander Garek I'll leave you in charge with a crew of 45 on the station. That is all your dismissed." Wallace stood up and watched as the officers left the room. Wallace, Tarik and Boyle went to the Marine Head Quarters and worked out the plans.
The Headquarters was at one time a cargo bay. The original HQ was too small for the now growing size of the Marines on the Station. There was few desks and several view screens and computer terminals. Wallace walked over to the view screen and pressed a button. On the view screen came a picture of a planet and on the side was three pictures of Jem'hadar attack ships.
"Gentleman this is Mekon VI the biggest Ketracell White plant in Dominion Territory. It contains a detachment of 25 soldiers, and two type V planter defense cannons. In the air three Attack ships.
Once the attack begins they will sound the alarm. A reserve Attack squadron will respond in 8 hours. Reinforcements will take 27 hours to arrive." Wallace tapped a button and the photos showed the large three-story plant and the trenches by it.
Lieutenant Anderson who was in the room watched from behind. "Lieutenant Anderson should have a Company size unit. Four Hawke transports." Tarik said looking at the picture studying the planet.
"Yeah but a Lieutenant can't lead a Company!" Wallace said looking at Tarik and causing Anderson to wonder what was going to happen to himself now.
"Yeah your right." Tarik replied.
"Lieutenant Anderson?"
"Sir?"
"Come here right now!" Wallace said as Anderson presented himself to the two senior officers.
"Yes sir."
Wallace pulled out a black box. "Lieutenant John Anderson for you personal valor and Merit conduct while under fire. I herby promote you to Captain." Wallace pulled of the lone silver bar and replaced it with two silver bars."
"Good luck Marines. I got to run and get ready for my mission."
Richard walked back to the command deck and their was Ensign Deveraux a face he hadn't seen in a long while. He felt kind of bad about throwing him in the brig, however the evidence was damning and he had to act. Deveraux stopped doing what he was working on and gave a mean cold stare at Wallace.
"What you want to say something to me? Well say it! You'll be busted so low you'll be saying yes sir to Razek." Wallace shouted in a loud tone that every one herd.
Razek was kind of taken by the comment. Wallace quickly made another comment. "No offense Ethan!"
"I zee your still a son of a zee bitch." Deveraux replied.
Wallace wanted to go over there and stomp Paul's guts out and then toss him out the nearest airlock. He knew that he was a senior officer and if he did that he'd be no better then Deveraux. "Ensign your not allowed on the Command Deck. Get the Sam hell off of it before I throw you off it!"
"Excuse me asshole I was doing some work..." A fist went across Paul's jaw then another across his left eye. Paul fell to the ground and looked up and saw Wallace standing over him. Deveraux wasn't sure what happen it happen so fast he didn't have time to react.
"Captain Wallace! What the hell are you doing? " A voice came from Richard's office. Wallace turned and looked up to see Captain Roberts. Damn. Wallace thought.
"Sir correcting a disrespectful Ensign the only way he understands. Sir"
"Captain Wallace don't let it happen again or it'll go on your service record." Roberts said looking at Deveraux was getting up rubbing his jaw.
Punch me I zee about zat. Paul then decided to retaliate against Wallace. He made a quick jab for Wallace's back side. However Wallace quickly turned and grabbed Paul's hand and twisted it at the pressure point. Paul gave a yell. "Damn you." He punched with his left fist making contact with Wallace's right cheek.
Wallace was rather mad at this and made a hard quick punch to Paul's nose breaking his nose. Wallace then kicked him in the groin. Paul dropped to his knees and Wallace finished him off with a blow to his left temple.
Deveraux fell down and was knocked out. His eye was cut, and nose was bleeding. Wallace's cheek was sore but not cut. A few crewman went to Deveraux's aid.
"Captain Wallace your confined to your quarters until 0415 hours. Now get the hell out of my site."
In his quarters Wallace tried to focus his mind on something else not Deveraux. Paul made his blood boil. Wallace sat on the couch and took a few minutes to think of something else other then what had happen.
Bridge of the Arizona at 0429 hours...
"All crew is aboard." Razek said from the ops station.
Wallace stood up and looked around and saw Paul sitting at the Science station with two shiners. "Commander Carter take us out at 2/3 impulse power. Mister Sovick once we have cleared the New Canada system, activatae the sensor masking system. "
Wallace took a seat and hoped that this mission would be a good one. And the event that help changed the course of the War.
