Captain's Log: Stardate 2461605
After almost 11 weeks of constant fighting between the Mulluran and Jem'Hadar Forces, and many battles. The Jem'Hadar are no longer a threat.
After the June 27 Battle the Jem'hadar were in utter defeat. They tried to reorganize but were only able to make a few bold stands but were defeated then as well. The New Dominion has agreed to a unconditional surrender to the G'Kar and Federation Alliance.
But on a more personal note I've lost over 25 crew under my command during this conflict. Command thinks I've done a perfect job, but I feel that was 25 too many.
We have tried to open talks with the Mullurans who are still able to fight but are only able to act defensively. Command has not yet approved any further offensive actions. This conflict has cost nearly 3200 Federation lives. They are sick of the casualty counts and are willing to talk out the next chapter of this conflict.
Note to Command that Colonel Tarik be given a Commendation for his handling of the battle that is being referred to as the "Turkey Shoot".
End Captain's Log.
Wallace stood up from his desk and looked around his office and thought about how much he enjoyed his post here. He then looked down and saw the Letter to Lieutenant Sovick's family. He knew he had the right to write his family and tell him that he died as a Soldier.
[Captain, Commander Mallory here.] The comm channel opened up.
"Yes go ahead."
[General Omata' klan has arrived with Valria the Vorta, they are docking in Docking bay three.]
"Very well have the Senior staff be ready in the Conference room." Wallace tucked his dress white tunic, and stepped out of his office. And walked over to the Confrence lounge were his staff was waiting.
Commander Mallory had prepared the table with only two chairs on each side. Captain Roberts was unable to attend and accept the surrender he was called back to earth. So Wallace was signing on behalf of the entire Federation. The G'Kar had General B'Kal a Deputy fleet Commander there to sign for his Government. Three reporters were in the room to record and document the occasion for history and the publicity.
There was 8 Security officers in the room two armed with Phaser rifles. Just in case they tried to pull something at the last minute.
The document was not on a PADD but on a piece of paper 13 inches wide and 16 inches long. The top contained the surrender promise and under that the enemies acceptance signature was required. Under that was the Allies responsibilities and surrender.
The room was quiet. Wallace looked at Tarik wearing his dress green uniform, and Commander Carter wearing her whites. Razek was there too. Mallory was also in her whites. Then the door slide open and three Jem'Hadar Guards walked in followed by their General and the female Volta. They appeared very much the proud defeated enemy, and tried to hide their shame in being defeated.
Mallory pointed out the two chairs where the two enemy diplomats were to sit. Wallace and B'Kal took their seat. Wallace began as he rehearsed it.
"Under the Articles of Surrender. All New Dominion Forces will cease hostile actions against the Federation and G'Kar Forces. All Prisoners of War on both sides must be released. Any Soldiers accused of a War crime must turned over for trial.
All territory belonging to the New Dominion will returned and left alone. No more then a force of 25,000 must exists in your Military. If so you will be subjected to harsh sanctions and possible Military actions " Wallace pause as he looked to see the reporters record the proceedings.
" If you understand these terms, please pick up the pin and sign here." The Vorta signed here name, and then handed the pin over to her General who signed his name in Dominonese.
"As Federation Liaison and Senior Officer I accept the surrender of the New Dominion. I also order all land and Air attacks to cease against the above named forces.
General B'Kal sign here." The General wrote his name down, and Wallace then handed the pin over to Colonel Tarik who was responsible for the Ground forces. After he signed his name, Wallace signed his and then closed the folder containing the surrender papers.
Wallace stood up and looked around the room. "The War against the New Dominion has ended. May we hope that those who died on both sides didn't die in vain. And that Mulluran Government will realize and follow suite as the Dominion did they are fighting a hopeless fight.
Attention on Deck!!" Wallace said standing at attention at the last. His crew stood at attention as ordered, as the defeated enemy passed and left for their ship.
Richard never cared for the Jem'hadar but had a respect for them as a soldiers. He however thought low of there loyalty to a person who reguarded them as meaningless soldiers that could be replaced at the drop of a switch.
Richard walked over to a table were there was drinks mainly champagne to celebrate the hard won Victory. Also on the Table was some food. He picked up a class and turned to see Kitty Mallory next to him. She gave a grin and look that didn't need an explanation.
She was proud of how handled the surrender of the Jem'Hadar, he acted more like a diplomat then a soldier that he boasted about being. He sipped his drink as other ship Captains came up to speak with him, and as the reporters did too.
