The Lambda Flier blazed out of SB901's docking section at high impulse heading towards Az'reel. [Sir, I don't recommend this. We've detected a few Mulluran cruisers on their way to Az'reel as well. You'd make a pretty nice target to them.]
"Lieutenant, I'm aware of that risk. In the mean time, make sure the station isn't destroyed in my absence." Garek looked up at the communications display monitor at the upper starboard bulkhead.
[Yes sir,] the female lieutenant replied. The channel closed, and Garek was on his own again. Checking the navigation charts, he made sure the course was correct, and then set the transwarp velocity to Warp 15. The Flier elongated, and disappeared into the green tube of transwarp travel.
The Flier dropped from transwarp over the skies of Az'reel. At least, what was left of it. Before Garek could attempt to open communications he was being hailed by the surface. [Lambda Flier this is Colonel Tarik. Please respond.]
"Tarik, it's Garek."
[Garek, good to hear from you. I assume your trip back to the station was uneventful.]
Garek snorted. "To say the least. We have a problem though. The station's Extreme Long Range Sensor system detected what appears to be a last ditch effort. There is a group of approximately five ships heading this way. It looks like a cruiser with some light attack craft as escort."
Tarik swore slightly under his breath. [All right. I'm going to have to contact Boyle to get his group refueled and re-armed again.]
"Of course, I'm here to lend you any assistance where needed," Garek added.
[I know. Thanks Garek. I think we're going to need it. You've got a sensor masking system on the Flier, don't you?]
"That's affirmative."
[I don't suppose you'd run a small errand for me would you sir?]
"Depends on what the errand is."
[I was wondering if you could give us some advanced reconnaissance. The Banshees are getting some maintenance, and the Hammerheads don't have the range that your ship does.]
"It's not a problem." Garek checked out his sensor readings, and projected data of where the enemy task force would be. "I'll get in position and radio you with information. Flier out." The channel broke, and Garek began to pull away from the planet towards open space again. Punching in a quick coordinates along the projected path, Garek punched in the transwarp drive and sensor masking system.
