Kitty and Katianna looked at Zac and Laurissa and the Pikachu as they stood in Cargo Bay Six. Kitty dismissed the security detail and just looked at the smiling children.

"Zac, do you care to explain what happened here?" Kitty asked her son.

"We rescued Yin and the Pikachu," he said.

"Well, where did they go?" she asked patiently.

Zac shrugged. "Back home. Some kind of vortex opened up. They mentioned those in science. I don't know how, but we did hear bells!!" he said as his eyes lit up.

"You mean jiggling bells? Like Santa's sleigh?"

"Yeah!" he replied. "It was really cool! And then there was snow that fell and then the vortex opened! We saw a meadow or something... It looked really nice and Yin said that was his home, so he left with all the Pikachus. Well, except that one. That one wants to stay for some reason."

Kitty looked at the floor and saw the dampness that was probably from the snow Zac had talked about and all the other Pikachu and this boy Yin were definitely gone. Plus, she had no reason to doubt her son.

"Laurissa," Kat began as she looked at the Pikachu sitting in her daughter's lap. "You worried momma and the Captain here quite a bit, and what you and Zac did was something you two should never have done."

"But, Momma..." she said, her green eyes beginning to grow big. "We had to save the Pikachu! We had to!! And I was just trying to be like you!"

Understanding dawned in Kat's eyes as she sat next to her daughter. "Ohhhh, so that's what you were doing too..." she said with a smile. "Well, in that regard you're too much like me. But, honey, Momma go special orders from Starfleet to do what she does... and when you get your orders from Starfleet you can do that stuff too."

Laurissa still looked sad. "Are you mad?" she asked.

Kat laughed softly. "No... Not anymore... In fact, it seems that you and Zac here are quite smart! Maybe if there are any special assignments we'll keep your names on file..." with that she winked at her daughter and her daughter laughed with glee.

"Now, what do we do with this last... Pikachu?" Kitty said looking at Zac. He nodded.

Suddenly, the yellow Pikachu went to her and hugged her leg. She bent down and they looked at each other as if trying to come to some sort of understanding.

"Pika-Pika," it said softly.

Kitty suddenly felt something like a gentle breeze in her mind. Images started forming and instantly she knew they were from this little creature. It was showing her it's abilities and it's love of children... and it seemed to like her too! Kitty used her own telepathic abilities to show images of her daughter Arianna to the Pikachu and of Jonas and her own fears. As if understanding, Pikachu nodded.

"Pika-pika," it said in an excited tone and jumped into Kitty's arms.

Kat saw and laughed. "Looks like you have a new friend there, Captain."

"I think you're right," she laughed.

Zac was thrilled that the Pikachu was going home with him and his mom, though he promised Laurissa she could come visit often. After all, they had saved the Pikachu together! As the door opened, they walked in to find Arianna playing on the floor with some toys and the sitter on the couch watching as she read from a PADD. As Arianna looked at them, her two-year-old face lit up.

"Momma!" she said and got up going to her.

Kitty leaned down and gave her little girl a warm embrace and kissed her cheek. "Arianna, I have someone I want you to meet," she said with a smile. From behind her came the little yellow Pikachu. Immediately Arianna smiled with delight and the Pikachu seemed just as happy. In fact, Kitty watched as the yellow electric mouse embraced her daughter.

"Pikachu..." it said softly.

Kitty could have sworn she saw a smile on its face.
