Klingon Bird of Prey, January 4, 2385....

K'Tag followed the giant Klingon through many small rooms, and onto the bridge of the Klingon vessel. The bridge was torn apart many of the computer consoles had been ripped apart.

"What happened here?" K'Tag asked. The Klingon looked down on K'Tag and replied in a soft tone of voice.

"We had a little run-in with the Mullurans, that is the reason you are here, Starfleet. The high council has initiated a type of draft program, because our battles are killing more and more of our brothers. You have been selected because you are of the house of Mogh, and that house is very highly honored."

"I am not born of the house, though, I adopted a youth from the house of Mogh, that is it."

"You graduated from the Warrior academy, you have shown and proven your skill in combat, and you come from an honored house. It is an honor to serve with you sir." The Klingon stepped back and motioned toward the bridge.

"So... What can I do to help?" K'Tag still wasn't sure why he was there, but since he was he must help. These were his people.

The Klingon replied in a very low tone, "The council has appointed you captain of this vessel, since our previous captain has died."

"Captain... I can't be captain, I don't know the first thing..." K'Tag was shocked, he must not have heard him right.

"You should not worry, just follow your heart, you are Klingon! You were chosen, and you must serve, we need to be in Sector 231 by tomorrow at 1500 hours, and you are the closest honored house warrior graduate, that is why you have been selected. I will have the repairs completed and we will be ready to get going in five hours, sir."

SB 901, January 4, 2385....

[Starbase 901 this is Lt. Claire O'Malley requesting permission to dock.]

[Lt. O'Malley you have been cleared to dock in docking bay 2]

As the shuttle docked the pilot stepped out onto the docking clamp, and walked through the portal doors. Captain Mallory was waiting for Lt. O'Malley.

"Captain Mallory, I am Lt. O'Malley, I'm your temporary replacement chief tactical officer."

"Welcome aboard Lt. O'Malley, your stay won't be very long so I'm only going to assign you to temporary quarters."

"Thank you Captain, it is nice to serve with a female captain finally."

"Oh... Your welcome, I guess." The captain wasn't quite sure, how to reply to a comment like that.

"I understand I am filling some big shoes this week."

"Yes, Lt. K'Tag does do a lot around here, and I guess he also has big feet. Commander Loran is off the station at the moment, so speak with Colonel Tarik. He will explain what your duties here are."

Klingon Bird of Prey, January 5, 2385....

Now that the bridge had been pieced back together, the duty stations were full, and the smell was as bad as it had been earlier.

[Captain K'Tag we are awaiting you on the bridge.]

[I'm on my way.] K'Tag was always a little late to reporting for duty. As K'Tag entered onto the bridge he was dressed in his Klingon attire, and caught the eye of everyone on the bridge. K'Tag walked to the chair in the center of the small bridge and sat down. The captain's chair must be in the center of the room so I can watch everyone and my own back K'Tag thought to himself in the safety of his own mind.

"Set our heading for Sector 231, we are going to get in there, do our assignment and get out, understood." There was no reply by a single member on the bridge. Just heads nodding in an accepting way.

SB 901, January 5, 2385....

<0800>

Lt. O'Malley awoke and took her morning sonic shower.

[Dr. Cherrin to Lt. O'Malley I just wanted to remind you of your appointment at 0810]

[Okay, thank you] When Lt. O'Malley talked her voice sounded a sweet as sugar.

On the way to the Turbolift she began notice many people turning their heads and starring at her. She wasn't quite sure why, but it must be because she is a new face on the station. She stepped off the turbolift and into the view of Dr. Cherrin.

"Why is everyone starring at me?" It really was beginning to bother the new Lieutenant.

"Well, if you don't mind me saying, you are very beautiful. It's not everyday a woman of such beauty is on the station."

"Stop it! your making me blush." Lt. O'Malley wasn't upset; she had been hearing this her entire life.

"You're clear for duty. Better report to your station."

She was just leaving the room, when she was stopped by Master Sergeant Hartman.

"Hello, I wasn't just wondering if you would want a date?" Sergeant Hartman spoke somewhat quickly, but very soft, for a drill sergeant.

"Sorry, I don't date humans, I hope you understand, plus I'm not planning on being here very long."

"That is okay, I understand. Have a great day!" The sergeant turned and walked away, and Lt. O'Malley began to walk to the bridge to report for duty.

Klingon Bird of Prey, January 5, 2385....

"Sir, I am reading a Mullurans vessel coming into view, time to intercept in ten minutes."

"Battle Stations, we will invade the vessel, retrieve the computer data, and we will leave." K'Tag spoke loud and clear, so everyone would understand.

"We will not leave without making our kill," the giant Klingon spoke up from the tactical position. All the Klingons on the bridge grunted in agreement.

"We have a target lock." The Klingon at the helm spoke as if the battle had already begun.

"Drop cloak and fire!" K'Tag yelled and it was done.
