The Station was beginning to piece itself back together. Captain Mallory was back to her station. She was in shock to find out her tactical officer and her good friend missing.
Lt. O'Malley entered into the captain's ready room.
"Captain, I can't believe it, It happened to me again..." She started to cry the captain began to console her.
"Don't you worry, K'Tag is the best officer I have ever served with. He is capable of supporting himself." Captain Mallory began to realize what she was saying, and what it actually meant.
"How do we still know he is even still alive."
"We trust, it is part of putting on the uniform. He will come home."
"What do you think of him, captain?"
"Ever since the day I met him, he has gone out of his way to be kind, and be a positive role model for my Zac... Shit if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't even have my Zac... I owe him my son's life, which means 100 times more than my own to me." The two continued to talk about K'Tag. Both feared for the worst, but hoped for the best.
Captain Mallory sat at her desk, and stared out the window.
"Captain's Personal Log. I have received the causality report from the attack on the star base: 27 dead, 58 wounded, and one missing. That one is a close friend of my family. He is celebrating his 35th birthday next month. He is the first Klingon I have ever served with. I fear he may be dead. The Romulans are an unfair people. I give my prayers to his family, It is my sincer hope that my chief tactical officer returns with no more than a hair pulled from the top of his head. I will keep his post open, and I will hope he returns soon. I have notified the Klingons of the situation. My next struggle is how to tell my young son Zac, whoadores K'Tag and will be hurt deeply because of his loss.

[Captain, it is good to see you. We have received a message from the Romulan Star Empire. K'Tag is still alive and they are open to negotiation. With your permission, I was considering putting your Lt. O'Malley on the assignment.] It was Ambassador Worf. He looked depressed, but was carrying out his duties thoroughly.
[It would be possible to put Lt. O'Malley on the assignment, but she and K'Tag were romantically involved. I'll see if she is up to it.]
[Captain, I have also been in contact with the Klingons, they promised me, they would return K'Tag to you safely... I value their word. I look forward to seeing you at a Starbase reunion upon K'Tag's arrival home.]
