Lt. Deveraux stayed over after unloading the supplies from the shuttle, to help stabilize the environmental systems and the hydroponics bay as it had become fouled. He has since left and will meet with Colonel Tarik and show him vid recordings of the current status.
While Paul was working to get those two vital systems up and running I headed to medical and installed the E.M.H., and uploaded the Federation medical databases into the computer. It took longer to install the system due to errors and missing subroutines which I had to either write patches for on the spur of the moment or copy out of the PADD that I had with me and then modify it to work.
I arrived on station twenty-four hours ago, and all I have seen and witnessed has been chaos. I met with the senior officer and his staff--there are 24 irregular G'kar military running the primary systems. There are 1,000 plus miscellaneous civilians under foot here on station. The 1,000 members of the La'kon relief force are on Swarva helping with the rebuilding and their protection for another sixty days.

Met with Mer'an, Commandant of the La'kon Legion and his XO(also his wife) Issira again today. They reported more vandalism, supply shortages, and are at a loss on how to use the 1,000 civilians that were dumped on them after the Legion left for Swarva. After several hours we had a plan.
The control room and other operational centers like life support, hydroponics, command, computer systems and like were all locked down and all staff started a search. We moved all of the civilians back out into an empty maintenance bays--The women and children into one hold and the men into another. I had a crew replicating and or searching for all clothing not currently in uses. We set up showers and decontamination stations in the hold and as a civie exited they were given dry clean clothing and sent into another room where the bases senior officers inputted them into the computer data bases and generated ID for each person. A generic ID chip was then given the information and was implanted on the spot. Then the civie was sent to medical where Jayme Alcon helped scan and treat them. Once done with this process they were then taken to troop barracks in groups by one of the NCO's.
Fourteen hours later all of the military personnel met in the control center and debriefed. These are the stats:
Of the 1,000 (not all are G'kar race) there are 250 children--150 of them are under the age of 12, and 100 are between the ages of 13-20. Of the 750 adults, 450 are male ages 20+, and there are 300 females ages 20+. Of the 750 Adults, only 225 of them have skills that are needed to help run the station. Those specialties include computer systems, education, mechanical, medical, farming, textiles, or small craft handling. Of the 500+ adults only 50 have a severe resistance to anything having to do with the military and it is agreed that we will offer them training in the non-military areas like medical or hydroponics or station maintenance--or be removed and placed on an G'Kar world.

Finally, I was able to get the heat in my quarters which is a hole in the wall literally down to 24 degrees vs. the 39 degrees they like to keep the rest of the base. My quarters are located on the fourth tier, tenth over #40 (is the address),there are 18 in a row. My quarters are 1.5m x 1.5m wide x 2.3m deep. You climb in head first on you hands and knees. There is storage and shelving at the head of the compartment and if you are careful you can sit cross-legged. There is a fold down compstation and vid panel.

The senior officers here decided that the youth over age 15 would be trained with the adults. Several of the youth have been caught vandalizing areas of the base and just causing mayhem. I've started having them work on cleaning out and a general scrub down of the whole base--under armed guards after their training periods. Wish Gunny Hartman was here to supervise this gang. Found some 'bugs'. Will continue to watch for further infestation.
In general we are running two watches. Everyone is getting the basic Star Fleet/G'kar basic training courses. So far everyone knows how to stand in straight lines and squads are naturally forming. There are multiples languages being spoken and even the G'kar officers are having trouble. I've had dozens of non G'kar drop from heat related problems--hell, I'm doing PE twice a day and I'm having trouble at times. Tomorrow we will start on tactics and weapons. I have started training 50 G'kar on the Basic Corpsman course.
LOG 5:
February 20th
The general temperature of the bases has been dropped to 32--thank the lord! Today, a supply ship from the G'kar homeworld arrived with food, clothing, and weapons. So everyone was put on detail for that and we will resume training tomorrow. The crew from the supply ship has been assigned to the bases and will help with training. I spared with Issira, the XO today, and won one of three--wrenched my knee in the process. Hobbled out to the docks and found Lt. Shar's ship. Shar had taken to living out here as he found the heat unbearable and the accommodations to be like coffins. Found his 'personal' logs...no wonder some of the regulars find me to be such a 'hard ass'--I don't play Dabo.

Basic training is going well. The experienced La'kon irregulars are spread through the ranks and are pushing but running a good basic program. For 4 hrs each watch I am conducting classes for the experienced La'kon soldiers on SF equipment, tactics, and Marine Corps doctrine. Still teaching the Basic
Corpsman class 2 hours a day, and have actually gotten to two of my own learning modules. Still having a 'bug' problem--solution from Tarik not working. The dozen CIC staff are very nervous, haven't seen much of the Commandant or the XO.

February 23rd
Found out why CIC Staff are nervous--there have been several Mulluran ships spotted surveying the system. I went through my resources and pulled up two phase cannon designs that can be built with the skill level and equipment found on station. Commandant Mer'an and Issira are proceeding and engineers have found two places for them to be mounted. Will be as effective as rock throwing.

February 24th
On top of my teaching assignment, its been decided (by Mer'an and Issira) that I need CIC experience. Their philosophy is that I am providing them a service by teaching and assisting. They can give me the "command experience--required for my new rank." So, I have been added to the watch list.

Delivered my first baby today-healthy little sebacian-G'kar kid. Broke up two fights during tactics class. Base spent 6 hrs dark 'emissions silent' as a Mulluran cruiser was sitting on our door step. We are expecting another company to return from Swarva. I have finished teaching the basic course and will start on the ATC. Mer'an has loaned me a large freighter to use to teach the ship boarding and combat segments. He laughed and said at least the ship would get some use...with the Mulluran ships in the sector, NO ONE IS GOING ANYWHERE!

February 26th
Last night sat my first watch in command, the Mulluran ships are still in the sector and we are on constant alert, but no emergencies on my watch.
Sparred with Issira again and lost all three rounds. Six of the teens want to learn attack craft management and I have found two of them slots learning on the freighter I've been loaned. I have found officers to supervise and teach them. Found one a slot working in the infirmary as a tech-she is currently in my corpsman training program. Found two more slots in damage control/life support tech, the last one is in engineering. They will work up as they progress through their basic training.
TRANSMISSION HELD. WILL SEND ASAP. J.ALCON

Ran the station levels and by the time I'd finished there were ten other members of the base that had joined me--so I taught a PT session on stretching and running mechanics. Finally the company we'd been expecting from Swarva arrived formed up and was inspected and released to move back into their barracks. Mer'an and several of the cruiser Commandants have asked about more types of weapons that can be mounted on the ships. I gave them what information I have on the subject from Starfleet. Suggested they make arrangements to 'borrow' an engineer or have one of their engineers work with SF/SB901 to get the tech bases they are requesting.

March 1st
Finished teaching the basic course and will start on the advanced course. New schedule: I will teach basics two twelve hour shifts; advanced tactics, two twelve hour days. I will teach med-course; 1 twelve hour day. And sit C.I.C., three watches a week. This schedule will allow me to concentrate on the material I am presenting. Will also allow comprehensive hands on training for the advance tactics. The base spent a whole watch 'dark', I was in CIC- never sweated so much in my life as I did with those ships lurking on our door step-Issira and Mer'an were frequent visitors while I held the watch.
