The Federation transport docked finally after nearly 12 days from Deep Space 13. The transport was a freighter that was regularly employed by the Federation either for transportation of Star Fleet personnel or cargo.
A young Lieutenant,wearing blue waited very patiently for the air lock to open up. The young human male had only a small duffle bag slung over his left shoulder. After all this wasn't his first assignment. In a matter of speaking this Doctor was rather a well seasoned space veteran. As the airlock opened up John waited and exited twelfth in the line of passengers. Most of the passengers were civilians. The only other star fleet passenger was a warrant officer that was either an engineer or Security officer.
John waited his turn and stepped in to the hallway that connected to the airlock. He stopped to take a look around he noticed two turbo lift doors and a NCO standing off by the air lock door. The NCO wore gold and was human male in his mid thirties at least.
"Doctor Barnes?" The Security officer said. Seeing that John was the only star fleet officer wearing blue.
"Yes. Is there a problem Chief?" Barnes asked walking up to the Chief and addressing him by his rank.
"No sir. Captain Mallory sent me to show you to your quarters. Since your transport arrived a few days earlier then expected. I was also told to escort you around and show you some of the station sir." The CHief said.
"Very well. Chief??"
"Chief Eric Lee, Sir."
"Ok I am ready for the guided tour then Chief. Oh you can call me either
Doctor or Lieutenant just I feel kind of funny about a older gentleman such as you Chief calling me sir." Lee gave a smile and allowed the Doctor to enter the turbo lift first.
Their first stop was to the stations Infirmary a deck below the Commerce section. The Infirmary was rather huge and was equipped with a Operating room and 23 biobeds. To the rear was a big office and a food replicator.
Chief Lee then toured the Commerce section and followed by the senior staff officers. The tour concluded to John's quarters and the two departed.
John stood in the door way and scanned his quarters which was rather nice compared to his quarters on Deep Space 13. Too the back wall was a view port about 5 meters wide and 2 meters long. Near the back was a door that lead to the bedroom. The furniture was rather basic, a small couch, a dinning table that seats two. And a small desk with a computer terminal.
Walking in the bedroom John placed his duffle on the bed, and began to unpack it. Inside his duffle was three PADDs a couple pictures and three uniforms.
