It had been a long hard journey for the crew of the Ronin. Not so much for the time of the journey, but for the ship they took it in. There was no holodeck for them to relax in. A tiny mess hall, Cramped quarters with bunk beds and no sonic showers and no ready room. Ryan had been thinking over these problems for a while and had come to a conclusion; the doors to the bridge slid open and Ensign Johnson stepped in.
"You wanted to see me Captain?"
"Yes Ensign. Here is a list of modifications that I want made to this ship starting as soon as possible." Ryan said handing over a PADD.
"Captain!" Ryan protested, "Do you have any idea how long this will take?"
"I'm aware of that Ensign, you have your orders."
"Aye sir" said Eddie with a sigh. He turned and left the bridge.
"Captain we have entered visual range of DS9" said Heim.
"On screen". The view screen changed and before him Ryan saw a vast armada of ships, mostly federation, some Klingon and some Romulan. "What the Hell is going on?" Ryan said to nobody in particular.
"We have clearance to dock at docking port C, Captain".
"Bring us in Commander". As the Ronin maneuvered itself around the other ships and DS9, Ryan was amazed at what he saw. Some of the oldest ships in the fleet were here. There were Constitution and Constellation classes as well as Excelsior, Ambassador and Miranda. Ryan even picked out a few Soyuz and Shelly class ships. *What is starfleet doing?* he asked himself. The Ronin continued to weave its way deeper and deeper into the fleet. Passing such vessels as the USS Victory and USS Stargazer, Constellation Class. There were other famous vessels such as the USS Malinche, USS Lakota, USS Hood, the Zhukov and the Gandhi. The Ronin finally docked and Ryan immediately stood from his chair. "Commander, you have the bridge" he said as he left the bridge.
Ryan stepped out into the massive control center of DS9. He stepped down into the center and approached a Bajoran with the rank of Colonel.
"Excuse me Colonel, is Commodore Sisko around?"
"Yes he's in his office, I'll tell him your coming"
"Thank you Colonel" Ryan walked up another small flight of steps and entered Siskos office through the large copper colored doors. Sisko was not behind his desk, Ryan looked around impatiently, *The Colonel said he was in here*
"Over here Captain" came a voice from a corner of the room. Ryan turned and saw Sisko sitting at a small table, building what looked like some kind of Bajoran clock. "What can I do for you" he asked.
"Sir, what is going on here? What are all these old ships doing here?"
"It seems that Starfleet don't want to send the Ronin and Knight in alone with the Leviathan"
"But don't you think this amount of ships is a bit extreme? Federation ships are one thing but what are the Klingons and Romulans doing here?"
"I have no idea Captain, you'll have to take that up with Starfleet command or Captain Devore." "I will, what is the ETA of the Hellcat?"
"We're still not sure Captain. In the mean time you and your crew are free to walk around the station. I shall assign you all some temporary quarters, I know how uncomfortable living on a Defiant class vessel can be" he said with a smile. "Some more of your crew members have arrived on other ships Captain, I'm sure they'll report to you shortly. One other thing, the USS Aldrin is currently occupying one of my runabout pads if you could move it as soon as possible, I would be extremely grateful."
"I'll do that sir."
"Dismissed" Ryan left the office with only one thing on his mind - Its true what they say about the way he talks.
