Fear was very much present among the two Star Fleet Officers, as they approached the Floran Military Base. Sean had already killed a man, and his sense of feeling that he had done wrong was still very much at the center of his thinking. Sean also wondered about the Star Fleet Doctor, for he had yet to ever aim a phaser at anybody or take a life. Sean hoped that Lieutenant Hancock would be able to defend himself in the event an enemy came at him.

Bright lights from the Floran base showed the way, and seemed to get brighter as Sean approached the generator building. The lights were mainly near the entrance to the base. The base had no fences or really no defense capabilities, mainly cause up to this point the Colonist never attacked the bases. Sean knew this would be a very easy victory cause of that, and it more then less be a slap in the face to the Florans.

There it is. Sean thought to himself as he saw the Generator building. He pulled off his pack and pulled out a homemade bomb, about the size of a hand phaser. He leaned down, and walked slowly over the open unlit area to the Generator building. He stopped when he got to the rear of the building and saw a perfect place to set the bomb. The power conduits. He placed it there and set the timer for 45 seconds. More then enough time to get 100 yards away and hit the deck.

As Sean hit the deck the bomb went off, in a huge fire ball. The Lights went out, and the Florans came out of their barracks to be greeted with phaser fire, and most were cut down quickly. Sean jumped up and ran towards the Armory, and made it in a few seconds. He was greeted by Floran that fired at him and missed. Sean brought his phaser rifle around and fired two shots. The two shots hit there mark and killed the Floran.

A sense unlike the first one came over Sean, not of guilt but of being glad he was alive. He quickly turned and went into the Armory, and saw weapons of every kind Anti Personnel was most of it. And that fit Sean's plans perfectly. He herd the phaser fire come to an end, he stepped out side to see what was happening.

The battle was one, several Floran were alive, and were to be left alive. Sean said that these would send word and the other Floran units would want to counter attack, and Lieutenant O'Neal's plan was to draw the Florans into the Mountains, and Use the Anti Personnel equipment against it's man users, thus giving a complete victory.

The walk back to the mountains took 6 hours, and the mood was high. William walked with Sean, but the two didn't speak. Mainly cause William felt that Sean was not sure of the his performance. Back in the mountains the other resistance groups formed with General Baker and his band. For the next 6 hours they set up anti personnel mines through three areas the Forans would attack.

William set up an aid station to treat the wounded after or during the battle. He however was going to be up near the action. he always wanted to be involved in a military action. "Sean, I've set up three aid stations along the lines of defense." Hancock said, checking the power cell in his phaser rifle.

"Ok, I want you up near the action. We need every rifle where we can." Sean said looking at the sun as it started to set.

William sat down and had his back face the area where the Florans would attack."Funny I joined Star Fleet to practice medicine."

Sean ignored the comment, and watched as the sun set, and the day became night. His and William's heart began to race. Sean had set up 120 antipersonnel mines below the ridges. He knew one could kill three to five people, he hoped it would work. Then flashes and distant thunder came about. And the sounds of wounded. William turned around and watched the ridge infront of him.

The sounds of wounded men before the Doctor were horrible, in fact the sounds were horrible to anyone that listened to them. Then came 34 screaming Florans with phasers firing. Sean aimed and fired, aimed three more times and fired killing four Florans. The instinct of trying to stay alive was over whelming, Sean fired randomly at any Floran in his site. The Phaser fire was so intense the noise and the heat from the phaser, that William almost coward down, but he knew better.

William aimed and tried to pull the trigger, but couldn't then he felt a warm mist hit his left side of his neck, he turned to see the man next him with most of his head gone. William felt angry, and turned to see a Floran come at him, Will fired 9 times striking the Floran 9 times, William contained to fire away at the dead FLoran, and until his power cell was out.

In a state of daze William ducked and turned around to replace the dead power cell, he tried to put a new one in but was shaking so hard and bad he dropped it into the dirt. Then came the word."Cease Fire."

Lieutenant O'Neal stood up, and saw that no more Florans were around the area, he pulled out his tricorder, and scanned and saw they had all pulled out. Sean fell to his knees in joy, and then looked around to see Hancock tending to the wounded. Sean looked at the dead Florans and felt sick.

Morning came and a group of Florans to discuss terms for a cease fire. Sean and Will sat the talks out. The didn't really talk to each other. Sean felt more comfortable around William. He thought William did best he could do under the situation which was outstanding in O'Neal's mind.

The two officers left, in their shuttle, and headed back home. For they had allot to tell Captain Ryan about.

"Sean." William said, turning his chair towards O'Neal.

"Yes, Doctor?"

"You think the fear, and feelings we have about what we saw and did will leave? Cause I tell you lad I'm hurting real bad inside."

"I don't think so, Doctor. Wasn't right and wasn't wrong. We knew the dangers when he put this uniform on."

William shook his head in agreement. he then said."Want to get together sometime on the holodeck?"

"Sure, can't think of anyone else I'd like to spend my time with."
