Lana McQueen

Standing at just five and a half feet, Lana is smaller than many security officers. However, she is extremely fit and often works out with her brother. She is also a martial arts expert and more than capable of looking after herself in a fight.

Born into a Starfleet family, Lana spent many years with his parents exploring the galaxy. By 2366, her father was a senior security officer on a frontline base close to the Cardassian-Federation demilitarized zone and her mother was a command officer on the base.

Even when the Dominion War broke out, Lana remained with her parents on the base rather than returning to Earth and its relative safety. However, in 2371 the base was attacked and both her parents were killed. Lana had been safe during the attack in the base's accommodation bunker deep underground. With no other family to rely on, Lana returned to Earth where her brother Logan had taken a leave of absence from Starfleet Academy after completing his third year.

For the next three years, Logan looked after Lana and only when Logan was secure in the fact that his kid sister was capable of looking after herself did Logan complete his Starfleet training.

In 2379, at the age of sixteen, Lana started at the pre-Academy school before she moved on to the Academy. During this time her brother Logan was sent on a covert mission and was listed as missing in action for over three months before being recovered and returning to Earth.

Lana moved onto the Academy in 2381 and graduated in 2385 with a major in security. She was given the assignment of junior security officer aboard the USS Taurus, the same vessel her older brother was assigned to.

Lana is a born fighter, her early life was pretty stable until the loss of her parents. Since then she has been forced to grow up faster than maybe she would normally have, which has made her very self-reliant. She sometimes finds it hard to make new friends and often spends many hours in solitude.

Lana is a keen author and has written a couple of commercial holonovels, which have recently been picked up by a publisher. She is also an expert holo-programmer and has created several martial arts training programs for her own use.

Expert in several human martial arts, including 'Silat', a little known Indonesian self-defense art.
