Lieutenant Logan McQueen
July 14, 2385
Main Briefing Room : USS Taurus

Lieutenant Logan McQueen was sat in the main briefing room, along with the Taurus’s new executive officer, Lieutenant J’ross. They were both awaiting the return of Rahel and Ashraf Kahfre, who had requested the meeting ASAP. As the two entered the room, they both looked at the new arrival with interest.

"Rahel, Ashraf, I’d like you both to meet Lieutenant M’eko J’ross our new XO. She’s also been given command of the Taurus until a new Captain is assigned. Starfleet feels that we must find the scientists soon." Logan started as the two sat down.

Both acknowledged the ships new temporary commander and Rahel was the first to reply.

"We’ve been attempting to find out more about our Jem’Hadar Ger’Tax." Rahel stated. "And we think we may now have an answer, if only in part as to the aims of the rogue group."

"Sounds intriguing." M’eko announced. "What exactly have you found ?"

"I’m sure that you have already been briefed about the situation the Taurus has found itself in. We managed to capture a Jem’Hadar on Juno III and had him in captivity away from the Dominion forces. He died in mysterious circumstances, which after an autopsy was in my opinion the result of an overdose of ‘White’. Further study has shown that infact Ger’Tax had a mutation that meant he wasn’t reliant on ‘White’ at all. While he was with the Dominion, this never showed up, but we believe that during his time with the rogue Jem’Hadar, he had been ‘weaned’ off the drug. When he was given fresh ‘White’ he had a severe allergic reaction which killed him."

"But we already know that." Logan announced. "So what have you found."

"Another Jem’Hadar with the same mutation." Rahel stated. "And we have a hunch that he maybe the leader and driving force for the rogue Jem’Hadar. His name was Goran’Agar and his DNA is an exact match to Ger’Tax."

"So they’re from the same batch." Logan suggested.

"Exactly. And we’ve also found out that the two Jem’Hadar that were taken from the Tartan Gerona outpost were also from the same batch. It looks like someone is gathering up all the remaining Jem’Hadar from that batch. It could explain why these Jem’Hadar are following the rogues willingly." Rahel continued. "From what Doctor Bashir has told me, Goran’Agar was obsessed with freeing his men from their dependence on ‘White’. If he is able to instil that sort of obsession in other, then we have a major problem. Bashir suggests that it is very likely that if he is still alive and that he is still looking for a cure. Given the drive this Jem’Hadar has and the fact that we have no proof as to his death, it’s very likely that we have a link."

"Which means we now have to inform the Dominion of our findings." Logan suggested. "They may have more information on whether this Jem’Hadar is still alive."

"Where was this Goran’Agar last seen ?" M’eko asked.

"On Bopak III, but that was in 2372." Ash replied. "When Doctor Bashir returned there in 2375, he found no evidence of the Jem’Hadar there."

"It’s a place to start." M’eko suggested. "We should also try and trace the remaining Jem’Hadar from the Goran’Agar batch."

"McQueen to Security." Logan announced. "Could you escort the Vorta Sabá to the briefing room."

Five minutes later, the Vorta was sat with the four officers listening to them.

"We think we have found a link between the two Jem’Hadar that were taken from Tartan Gerona and a Jem’Hadar named Goran’Agar. We think they are all from the same batch of Jem’Hadar and this could explain why they are working willingly with the rogue Jem’Hadar. We believe that the Jem’Hadar Goran’Agar was last known to have been on Bopak III in 2372."

"And what would you like from me ?" Sabá asked.

"We’d like you to use the Dominion systems to see if you can first of all trace this Jem’Hadar Goran’Agar and secondly to try and trace all the Jem’Hadar from his batch." Logan requested.

"I would need a secure connection to the Dominion systems." Sabá stated.

"That can be arranged, but we would need to monitor your access." J’ross stated.

"That is unacceptable." Sabá announced. "I need to check database which are very secure. Few have access to these records and I’m not about to give the Federation any chance of using the information."

"And we are not going to let you have unrestricted access to our ships database." J’ross replied.

"We could erect some kind of firewall ?" Logan asked. "We could block off all access to our systems, but still allow access to the sub-space transceiver systems. I’m sure that we could come to some kind of compromise on just how much access you would need."

"How long could this take ?" M’eko asked.

"At least five or six hours." Logan replied.

"We will be leaving in four hours anyway, so I guess you should get started." M’eko ordered. "If that is alright with you Sabá."

"I am sure we can come to a mutual compromise." Sabá announced. "After all, we are currently allies and working towards that same goal. These rogue Jem’Hadar are a nuisance to both the Dominion and the Federation."

"Then it’s settled." M’eko stated. "We’ll leave DS9 in four hours and set course for Bopak III. It maybe a dead lead, but at the moment it’s the only one we have. Maybe with the Taurus sensors we can discover something that Doctor Bashir overlooked. If the Vorta’s research come up with a better lead, then we’ll change course."

The crew left the briefing room and headed for their various posts. Rahel and Ashraf headed back to sickbay, whilst Logan and the Vorta headed for a secure room where they could set-up the link.
