Quantulations

M'eko entered the Taurus's shuttlebay and was shocked at what she saw. Not two feet in front of her was a bulkhead. She had to stop abruptly and stare straight up to see a craft that almost touched the ceiling of the twenty-eight metre high shuttlebay. Looking to her left and right, she noticed that the craft extended most of the length of the fifty-five metre long bay with about five metres to spare on either end. She casually walked around to the other side of the ship and saw Captain Taybar standing next to the Hellcat tapping one of the bay control panels.

"Hey M'eko." Aki said noticing she was there. She was still hitting a few control sequences as she said it.

"Good Morning, Captain. Securing the power transfers ?" M'eko asked as she glanced at the console.

"Yes. Just making sure everything is as it should be.... " She replied letting herself drift off to finish it up. "Now. You want to see that engine ?." Aki asked knowing full well that J'ross was almost jumping through the door.

"You bet I do." M'eko responded almost letting her excitement get the best of her.

The two went through the ship and Aki showed M'eko all the bells and whistles of the ship. It was a hell of a shuttlecraft, if you could call it a shuttlecraft. But then they got to the engine room.

"Prototype micro slipstream drive. Capable of Transwarp 15. 15.2 if you get the mix just right." M'eko finished as she knelt down next to the base and opened a circuit panel to get a look at it.

*Should have just opened the door and let her loose in here.* Aki thought as she watched M'eko check every panel, every connection and even check the system specifications from the Engineering readouts.

"Power is at two Terradynes right now... Should be at 3.8. But it is not ready for use. Better keep it above 1.8 to be at ready." M'eko said without looking up.

"Having a good time yet ?" Aki asked walking over to her.

"Very." Meko said still fixated on the readouts. "I may be in command now, but I'm still a Starfleet Engineer it seems." She continued.

Standing up from the console after about fifteen minutes of looking over every part of the system, she finally stood up. "Thanks for the tour Captain. Looks like I have a lot to learn to be able to keep up with every other Engineer out there." She said with a big grin.

"I'm heading back to the Bridge and then I'll be in my ready room." Aki stated. "I've got a meeting with our new Intel officer and then I'm going to deal with Dominion friends."

"With your permission Captain, I'd like to hang around a little longer and help get the Hellcat ready for it's trip back to Earth." The young XO requested.

"Permission granted." Aki replied. "I'm sure Lieutenant McQueen can handle the Bridge for a little while longer."
