[Hellcat to away team.] The voice of Commander Barker announced. [The target is moving away from the system and we're going to follow, you're on your own. We're sending down the co-ordinates of the probable landing sites for bogies two and three.]

"Looks like we're on our own." M'eko said to Lieutenant Jones. "They haven't been able to reach us yet, but we should assume they will."

Jones pointed to the large hills around the Northwest end of the colony. "The pathways and ledges there would allow us a good defence point. You can see the whole layout and there would be less of a chance that any colonists would come under fire." He said assuredly.

"All right, can we get there fast ?" M'eko asked while slinging a rifle over her shoulder.

"We can reach it in twenty minutes if we leave now. The west road out of town goes straight up. It goes through more than one narrow rockface, so we can block the road after we pass." Replied Jones.

Within twenty minutes, M'eko and Jones were able to get the colonists up the side of the hill and they were able to block the road off by blowing parts of the rockface onto it with their rifles. They found a ledge near the top that jutted out to provide a perfect platform for firing at someone in any part of the colony.

M'eko, Jones and seven colonists set up their weapons to do just that. Behind them, farther back from the edge, the rest of the colonists were able to seek a very sufficient amount of shelter in the hillside. M'eko took out a frequency monitor and placed it between her and Lieutenant Jones. Now they could hear comm traffic between all of the teams.

[Alpha to Echo.] Floten's voice announced. [We have you at five miles west of our position.]

"They must be exiting the forest now" J'ross said to Lieutenant Jones.

Jones thought for a moment and said "If that's where one of the shuttles landed, then we should be in a good position to provide support if they get closer to us. All of a sudden, there was a cracking sound far in the distance and from their high location, they could see a few very faint flashes. Then nothing……

[Echo to Beta and Charlie. We believe bogies have attacked Alpha. Beta, you are closest to them, investigate. Charlie, follow us to Alpha. Keep close to the forest and watch you six. Maintain radio silence unless absolutely necessary.]

M'eko recognised the voice of Lieutenant McQueen's voice.

[Beta.] A voice announced.

[Charlie.] A second voice announced.

"Let's move out and give them some support." J'ross announced. "They may just need it.
