Surrender.

Trueman had just finished the download of the base computer core and was getting ready to return back to the Taurus when he decided to take one last look around the base. It was odd that the base was so abandoned, but then if it was about to 'blow' he was sure no-one wanted to be around for the main event.

He picked up the life-signs of the Major's group, along with a human and a Trill, the two Federation scientists he presumed. He also picked up some faint Jem'Hadar life-signs in the area where the Major was. Then he noticed something else, a small group of Jem'Hadar life-signs, ten of them all together in one spot, two decks down. He zoomed the schematic in and discovered that the room they were in was assigned as an isolation room, with no way of opening the doors from the inside. They were trapped inside and something poked at Jack's conscious.

"Trueman to Major Phanan." Jack's announced over his helmet comm.

[Phanan here.] The Major replied. [What's the problem ?]

"We've completed the core download, but I've detected Jem'Hadar lifesigns close to my position." Truman reported. "I'd like to investigate."

[Why ?] The Major asked.

"The area they appear to be in is secured." Jack stated. "From the schematics we've got, it's some kind of isolation area, locked from the outside. I'm picking up about ten Jem'Hadar."

[Trueman, investigate and bring back any Jem'Hadar you find alive.] The Major ordered. [Transport them to the Taurus and secure them in the Brig. You've got six minutes, then I want you back on the ship.]

"Understood. Truman out."

Jack picked up his phaser rifle and headed down the two decks to the isolation area. He punched a few codes into the door lock, but nothing happened. He checked his chronometer, three minutes to go. He didn't have time to by-pass the controls.

Aiming his rifle at the door, he shouted. "Stand back, I'm going to fire at the door."

He pulled the trigger and fired at full power. The door started to glow red, then white before melting into a pool of molten metal. He looked inside and saw ten Jem'Hadar, some of them injured. He also saw the bodies of several more Jem'Hadar lying on the floor.

"Drop any weapons you have and come out." Truman ordered.

At first the Jem'Hadar stood looking at Jack, his rifle pointed in their direction. "MOVE." He shouted. "Unless you want to go up with the rest of the base."

They finally understood and moved quickly out of the room, looking dejected and defeated.

"Truman to Taurus." He announced, still pointing his rifle at the Jem'Hadar.

[Taurus here.] The voice of Captain Taybar came back.

"I have ten Jem'Hadar prisoners to beam straight to the Brig." Jack stated. "Can you beam them from my current location."

[Yes. Lieutenant Truman, but only two at a time.] Aki replied. [Stand by.]

The first two Jem'Hadar disappeared, followed by the next two. As the third pair were transported, Major Phanan and the two scientists appeared around the corner.

"Major, I've got ten prisoners being transported to the Taurus." Jack reported. "They put up no resistance."

"They're Goran'Agar's men." Doctor Mitchell commented, noticing the last two Jem'Hadar waiting to be transported. "Loyal to the Jem'Hadar who first brought us here. He was the one who explained what he was seeking, to free the Jem'Hadar from the shackles of Ketracel White. He even had a cure, but no way of introducing it into the Jem'Hadar population."

"Let's get you back to the Taurus." The Major suggested. "Trueman, escort the Doctor and his assistant back to the command deck and get off this base. I'm heading back to the cloning lab."

"With that, Trueman and the two scientists headed back to the command deck. Five minutes later, they were on the Taurus. But Jack immediately noticed that they were moving.

"Truman to Bridge. Have you beamed the Major back yet." He announced.

[We're moving closer to the level of the cloning lab, we don't have much time.] The voice of the Captain replied. [The base will explode in four minutes, we had to get out of there.]

"Understood, I'm taking Doctor Mitchell and his assistant to sickbay, then heading to the Brig. Trueman out." Jack reported.
