Johnny Chee

Background

Chee was born in Tuba City, Arizona, Earth on the Navajo homeland. He joined Starfleet at the outset of the conflict with the Cardassians as an enlisted crewman. His detachment was captured and only Johnny escaped the Cardassian prison camp to return to a Federation base. Because of his valor he was appointed to Starfleet Academy and completed the training in the top 25% of his class. He immediately joined the Starfleet Marine Corps.

His first mission as an officer set him in the USS Ilion. After being less than a month on that ship, due to an unexplained anomaly called a tesseract, Chee was captured by a race that resides in the Andromeda Galaxy called the Kelvans. The Kelvan ship where Chee was being held was caught in the wake of a second tesseract that landed them in the Gamma Quadrant. Chee was rescued by the USS Virgo and was assigned to the vessel as Commanding Marine. He was promoted to First Lieutenant by Captain Maruu.

On April 23, 2383, Chee was promoted to Major for his valor and amazing leadership capabilities in a campaign led by Captain Maruu on Xenon III.

On October 1, 2383, Chee married Jenara Shylo Tomme.

On March 10, 2384 Chee was again promoted for his bravery and valor displayed during the Flor Campaign. His new rank was that of Colonel.

Later in 2384, the Virgo crew was catapulted through time and space to the 21st century in a universe where their activites were the product of the Burgosian Innovations Star Trek role-playing group. Chee was instrumental in defeating a government plot to incarcerate the players and in averting an invasion of Earth by the Eriarti. Upon returning to its proper time and place, the Virgo was decommissioned.

Unfortunately, due to a bureaucratic error, Chee's promotions were revoked and he returned to the rank of First Lieutenant. He had accepted a posting aboard a troop transport destined for the Briar Patch when Commodore Wallace offered him the Chief Security/Tactical Officer posting aboard the USS Hornet, provided he transfer services from the Marines to Starfleet. Chee accepted the new posting with his former shipmate.

Personality

An inveterate practical joker, Johnny sometimes puts his foot in his mouth. However, he is a generous soul and would gladly do anything to help someone he perceives to be in need. He does have a very quick temper which he's spent most of his military career trying to control.

Special Abilities

Johnny is highly skilled in human and Klingon martial arts, holding a 5th degree black belt in karate and an expert rating with the bat'leth. Johnny also has a secondary skill area in engineering, with in-depth knowledge of shields and transporter systems. He is also one of the most skilled officers in Starfleet at functioning in primitive environments for extended periods of time. Johnny speaks Klingon, Cardassian, and Bajoran in varying degrees of fluency in addition to his three mother tongues (English, Spanish, Navajo).

Hobbies

Weightlifting, martial arts, building and tinkering with small mechanical devices. Johnny's holodeck programs are extremely elaborate.
