Background

Zirana was born on Betazed to two psychologists who taught at the University. It was engrained in her to respect rules, regulations, and tradition.

She enjoyed counseling and majored in abnormal psychology where she received an MA. She enrolled in Starfleet Academy to see the world and experience other cultures. After the Academy she specialized in xeno-psychology and xeno-sociology.

Zirana has taught courses in First Contact and Bio-ethics at the Academy. She was an assistant professor when the itch to join the stars began. She enlisted and was placed on the USS Hornet.

Can speak Betazoid, Klingon, Vulcan, Romulan, and Federation Standard.

Personality

Zirana is generally an informal person, but because of her upbringing, has become a social chameleon. She can be a wallflower when needed or a strong advocate.

Like most Betazoids, Zirana is telepathic. She does not score high on the telepathic scale, and has moderate shielding. She is a normal Betazoid.
