The USS Hornet entered the Morristown Star System at full impulse. The four planets stood as they had for hundreds of thousands of years. A few comets streamed by the two Class M planets, making a brilliant show.
On the bridge of the ship, Lieutenant Commander McAllister sat at the helm running his fingers over the controls to the Hornet's flight systems. He then ran his fingers over the controls that were responsible for the ships bearing. The young Commander enjoyed his position greatly and was completely focused on his work.
"Commodore, we are entering the Morristown sector," a stern voice said seated to the right of Commander McAllister. It was Ensign Okul, the second Cardassian to serve in Starfleet.
Commodore Wallace, sitting in his Command chair, gave a grin from ear to ear. He was happy at the idea of being on an exploration mission instead of on combat patrol. "Very good. Commander Chee, prepare your Alpha team. Mister McAllister, get down to the shuttle bay and ready the shuttle for lift off," Wallace said standing up out of his chair and walking over towards the Science station.
"Ensign Okul, bring us into orbit above Morristown's moon," Wallace said, knowing that Okul was an able pilot. He quickly switched his seat and took the helm.
The Hornet made its way to the moon over Morristown. Wallace paced the bridge back and forth. The Commodore felt rather uneasy being around here. The whole conflict started here.
[Hornet, this Alpha team awaiting your final orders,] the comm channel came alive. Wallace recognized Chee's voice on the comm channel. "Permission to disembark."
"Mister Okul and Captain Lataro, I want Bravo team to complete their mission by 2100 hours tomorrow. So be quick, but not too quick," Wallace said looking at the two officers.
"Yes sir," the two officers replied at the same time.
Wallace pressed his comm badge." Banshee, this your Commodore speaking. I want you ladies to conduct maneuvers. Wallace out."
"Commander Wolf, I want you to run emergency drills. Combat, natural disasters. I want the results on my desk by 2100 hours tonight. It's 1332 hours -- you better get on it now," Wallace said walking over and entering his ready room.
