Captain Kara Neil walked through the Promenade full of people. It reminded her of a city fair with people nearly knocking you over just to get at the hot dog stand. She almost laughed as the image appeared in her mind.
It's not quite like that here, she reminded herself as she stepped out of a Bajorans way. Almost.
She wandered into Quark's and sat down at the bar. She looked around at her surroundings. Nearly all the people in the Alpha Quadrant were represented at Quark's. Klingons were standing or sitting. Bajorans were playing dabo. Ferengi were walking all over the place, and humans were sitting or playing. She shook her head and turned back to the bar to see Quark staring at her.
"What will it be?" He asked as he wiped down the top of the bar.
"Bloodwine, please." Neil answered.
Quark stared at her as if she had lost her mind, "Not very many humans ask for that drink. Unless they're trying to impress a Klingon."
Neil smiled, "I'm not trying to impress a Klingon. I happen to like the drink and if I impress one, <shrug>."
Quark smiled and shook his head, "One bloodwine coming up."
Kara chuckled as the Ferengi barkeep walk away. She turned back around and watched the people go about their business.
