After a little over a day, T. Beckett decided to leave the ship and go onto to DS9. He stopped by Quark's for a drink. He walked up to the bar and sat on one of the stools. He saw people playing Dabo, Kira yelling at Quark, and Morn sitting and drinking.
"What will you have sir?" asked a Ferengi bartender.
"I'll have some warm coffee," said T. Beckett.
"Coming up," said the Ferengi.
The Ferengi replicated some coffee and gave it to Beckett. "That will be three bars latinum," he said.
Beckett handed him three bars and sipped his coffee. "Hey bartender. Are there any free holosuites?" asked Beckett.
"Sorry sir. All full. If you would care to wait an hour maybe...," said the bartender.
"No thanks," Beckett said.
Beckett finished his coffee and left the bar. He walked up to a window and watched the wormhole open and close. He stood there for several minutes before hearing a announcement by the computer.
<Attention. Transport to Gamma Colony in the Gamma Quadrant underway. Leaving in five minutes. Transport located at Docking Bay 1,> said the Station Computer.
"Hmm," said Beckett.
Beckett ran down to where the transport was. He managed to get on before it took off. Some turbulence caused by the wormhole caused some passengers to throw up. After exiting the wormhole, the transport set down on Gamma Colony and people began to get off and unload supplies. Beckett walked up to one of the officers.
"Hey, when do we go back to DS9?" asked Beckett.
"Five hours or so. Why?" said the officer.
"No reason," said Beckett.
Beckett grabbed a phaser and walked off into the forest in search of adventure. After two hours of walking around, Beckett found a broken down compound. He walked up to a door and saw some writing.
"What the...! Looks like Jem'Hadar," he said.
Beckett readied his phaser and walked inside and found broken panels, dead Starfleet and Jem'Hadar officers. Someone stepped part-way out of the shadows.
"Freeze!" he exclaimed.
"Who are you?" asked Beckett.
The person walked out and revealed himself to be a Jem'Hadar.
"I am the Second of a group of five Jem'Hadar," he said. "Now prepare to die."
He fired his weapon and the blast knocked Beckett to the ground. The Jem'Hadar walked over to him and stood over him pointing his gun at his face.
"What's wrong with you? The war is over!" exclaimed Beckett.
"Do you expect me to believe such a cheap Federation trick. Goodbye," he said.
"Goodbye," said Beckett.
Beckett grabbed his phaser and blasted the Jem'Hadar in the stomach at maximum stun setting. The Jem'Hadar staggered and blasted Beckett in the leg. The Jem'Hadar fell down on his back. Beckett got up slowly, and walked toward the Jem'Hadar.
"Are you all right?" he asked.
"I will not listen to you, human. My orders are to hold my position until my superiors contact me," said the Jem'Hadar.
"But the war ended years ago. Come with me. I can get you medical attention and...," said Beckett.
"Never!" shouted the Jem'Hadar.
The Jem'Hadar grabbed his gun and fired on Beckett. He hit his shoulder and Beckett returned fire. Beckett's fire killed the already injured Jem'Hadar.
"That's a shame. It really is. Unnh.... Ensign Beckett to any Starfleet Officers. I am injured and require medical assis...tance...," said Beckett.
Beckett fell over on the floor. After a hour several Starfleet Officers found him and took him back to the Alpha Quadrant and the USS Knight.
Beckett woke up in the Knight's sickbay and saw a medical officer over him.
"Awake I see. You had quite a experience. Care to tell me about it?" asked the medical officer.
"Let's just say it involved me and a Jem'Hadar making a last stand. A real last stand," said Beckett.
