A blinding blue flash encompassed the whole Federation fleet. Nige thought to himself, thank God Kira, let's just hope we get to the right place. The ride was very smooth and short and soon the Knight and Orion with added shuttlecraft, runabouts and debris emerged into Bajoran space. Nige stood up and looked at the planet in the distance. It was Bajor! He quickly sat back down again and set a course back to the Knight. The Mekong docked in the shuttle bay with the Congo. MacLeod stepped out and stepped up to Nige.
"You're bleeding," stated Nige.
"It's nothing. It was just a bit of a scuffle with a Kelvan."
"MacLeod, I really must get going. I have to speak to Commodore Pike," he says turning off.
"Nige! Is that planet Bajor?" called MacLeod.
"Yes!" shouted Nige as he ran out of the shuttle bay.
"Tumock, where are we?" demanded Pike.
"Sir, we're in the Bajoran sector, six days ago."
"Before Bajor was destroyed. This has got to be more than a coincidence. Why bring us back to Bajor?"
"I don't know sir," replied Tumock.
"Commodore Pike!" called Nige running down to the lower level. "What date is it sir?"
"The twenty-third of November."
"The Kelvans aren't here yet?"
"No."
"Commodore, I know how to defeat them. I know how to get the Knight close enough to the planet!"
"How??" said Pike, standing up from his chair.
"The Picard Maneuver!" Pike looked at Captain Neil.
She said, "It would work Commodore. The Kelvans would have no time to respond. However the calculations would have to be exact. A nanosecond too late and we'd collide with the planet."
"That's a risk we'll have to take Captain. We must defeat the Kelvans now. Stop them here at all costs. Mr. Tumock, program the computer with all the necessary information. This one will have to be done automatically."
"Aye sir."
"Commodore, may I go? There's someone I must talk to," requested Nige.
"Dismissed Lieutenant." Nige walked over to the turbolift. He couldn't help having a smile on his face. He stepped off the turbolift and asked the computer for directions to Kira's quarters. He rang the chime.
"Come in," came a voice from inside. Nige stepped in and saw the silhouette of Kira standing by the window, looking out on Bajor.
"You did it Kira, you brought us back. We can save our families this time round."
"We can indeed," said Kira. Nige walked up and stood along side Kira.
"Its an amazing sight isn't it? I never thought I'd see it again." No response came from Kira. No more needed to be said. The two of them stood there looking out at Bajor.
