As Benson worked, Brock slithered past and began to give orders with his mechanical voice.
"Johnson, R'tul, run a diagnostic on the warp core. I want to make sure it's working at peak efficiency. Benson, run a diagnostic on the main sensor array. Get to it, people!" Benson got up from his workstation and walked over to the station that controlled sensors. He began to run the diagnostic when the lights went off. "What's going on???" cried Brock. Benson quickly ran a diagnostic.
"Lieutenant, power to engineering has been cut."
"What about the rest of the ship?"
"Just engineering sir."
"Thats strange. Benson get into the Jeffries tubes and find out what's going on."
"Yes sir." Benson replied. He went through the doors to the side of engineering and climbed the ladder into the Jeffries tubes. He stuck his head up and was almost hit by a bolt of energy. He quickly ducked back down again and ran back out into engineering.
"What is it Lieutenant?" asked Brock
"Theres something in the tubes, sir!"
"What do you mean, something?"
"I don't know what the hell it is! It took a shot at me though!"
"Hmmm. seal off that door and all access points to Jeffries tube 36." Brock's orders were too late, however, and something began banging on the door. The engineering crew all turned and looked at the door. Whatever was behind it continued to bang until it seemed to get bored. The banging stopped and all the engineers began to look at each other.
"Brock to Bridge"

"Brock to Captain Osagawa respond please?"

"The communication system must be dead," stated Benson
"Indeed, fix it!"
"Yes sir." At that moment an energy bolt flew through the door, blasting it open. A large dark figure stepped out. It looked organic but there were definitely mechanical parts to it. Was it a new type of Borg? How could it be? How could the Borg have managed to get onto the ship without sensors detecting a ship nearby? It soon became apparent that it wasn't a Borg as it seemed to move a lot more easily. It began to pick off engineering staff as they ran for safety. A few including Benson managed to get to a weapons locker and grabbed phasers.
"Who is in charge here?" it demanded in a deep mechanical voice, much like Brock's
"I am" said Brock shuffling towards it slightly. The large invader without mercy looked down at Brock and blasted him with the lightning weapon. One of Brock's arms flew off, the other fell limply to the floor. The lights on his mechanical implants slowly switched off. At this point Benson took his phaser and aimed at the intruder. He set the phaser to maximum and fired. The phaser hit the enemy, but it had no apparent effect. The large cyborg turned and gave of a terribly shrill, evil laugh and blasted Benson with the lightning.........
