Tumock was slumped into his chair, although he didn't want to seem 'soft' or show much emotion to the crew, he was quite worried with Nige's discovery. The protectors seem ingenious pieces of technology, they seemed to clever to be real.

Maybe Nige was right maybe we should have ignored Starfleet and dismantle them while we had the chance. We could've recorded the procedure, and sent all data we collected to the Federation Science counsel.

Tumock then snapped out of his trance and looked at the report in front of him. It was from the ship's counsellor Dinara, who seems rather worried about Nige. Perhaps the promotion was a bit hasty, and the workload a bit too much considering the experience he had just been through.

Nige was a good officer and has shown great command knowledge, he deserves the promotion, but the workload needs to be temporarily cut down.

Tumock then placed the PADD down and straightened himself up as he swivelled on his chair to allow easier access to the computer. He tapped away at the computer at his desk pulling up the crew manifest.

Lieutenant Beckett has served on this ship for quite some time, he has been in many combat situations, Tumock thought, looking over Beckett's files. Tumock then made the necessary adjustments to the crews orders, transferring tactical and security shifts from Nige to Beckett, and giving Nige more leisure time and desk work.

This should benefit both parties, he thought, looking over the changes. If Beckett proves he can handle the change in workload, then he may be ready to take over Nige's old station.

Tumock picked up the PADD again and scrolled down. Lt Commander Kira Markos is to be transferred to the USS Ronin, which leaves the Knight without a Chief Medical Officer.

Tumock once again accessed the crew manifest and searched the medical team. Hmm, he though. Haakon is our next most senior medical crew member, but I feel she needs some more training. Tumock pondered for a while. There doesn't seem a way out of this, he thought. Looks like we're going without for a while.

Tumock reached for the PADD again when chime sounded.

"Come," called Tumock. Commander Nige walked in.

"We are approaching Star Base 901, Captain," said Nige as he walked into the room.

"Thank you Commander. I'll be out shortly. Dismissed."

Nige gave a little nod and left. Tumock stared at the PADD again, then placed it down and headed for the door.

As the doors slid open Tumock stepped onto the bridge, paused for a moment and then walked over to his chair and sat down.

"Hail them," said Tumock staring at the image of the Star Base on the viewscreen.

"Channel opened, sir" replied Harris.

"This is Captain Tumock of the USS Knight requesting permission to dock and deliver supplies."

"USS Knight, you are clear to dock at docking port three, welcome to Star Base 901, Knight."

"Close channel," called Tumock. "Mr. Churok. Take us in."

"Aye sir."
