Character History

Jovan Kalimar came to this reality from an alternate one by way of a formidable interdimentional explosion caused by the destruction of the Bajoran Orb of Creation. He, Commander Katianna Nadira, and an extremely advanced Federation vessel, the USS Seth, were sucked into the explosion and transported to this reality.

Kalimar enjoys a good game of 20th-century basketball in the holodeck. He enjoys machinery and technology and, especially since he no longer holds the knowledge of the universe in his mind, he enjoys coming up with new ideas. He enjoys a good engineering project, and, although his position is Intelligence, he will want to be a part of all major projects on the ship. He has an excellent sense of humor and can be quite sarcastic at times. He can be childish and playful, but his duty is very important. He is very loyal. Kalimar is an excellent fighter and fencer and enjoys practicing his skills on the holodeck or on dangerous missions. He has gotten permission from Starfleet to use a sword he created himself rather than a phaser in battle or on missions. The sword is of Terran Japanese style. The blade, sharpened by lasers to have an edge only a molecule thick, is made of a synthetic alloy which can cut through anything.

Kalimar's father the Q who's presence was recorded on the USS Enterprise-D so many times and a Q female previously unknown to the Federation. Born on May 20, 2373, he was the first Q to be born in many millenia. He was only able to be born by direct inteference by the USS Voyager, captained by Kathryn Janeway, in a Q Civil War. Janeway herself became the young Q's godmother. Kalimar, originally named Jovani Burgos, joined Starfleet applying as a Human. When his identity was discovered on the USS Caronia, he was tolerated, but later imprisoned on his ship. Later, he managed to escape his prison and make his way back to the Federation. There, he was captured and scanned by Section 31. After an accident, Kalimar's DNA was mutated and changed to a Human's. Section 31 then recruited him and placed him on the USS Aquitania with a new identity: that of a deceased Bajoran, Reni James. After working for Section 31 for some time, Kalimar began to suffer major DNA degradation. This condition worsened and nearly killed him.

This predicament led Kalimar and his newfound friend and confidante, Katianna Nadira, to Bajor where Kalimar would undergo a ritual that would allow him to find the location of an Orb of the Prophets long thought lost. Kalimar found the Orb of Kalimar just in time and merged with it, turning the ex-Q into a Bajoran Prophet. This is when Kalimar adopted his present name. He proceeded to defect from Section 31. He would have left Starfleet permanently if not for the fact that Kalimar found that Section 31 itself was deteriorating for an unknown reason. This would allow the Federation to further pursue its goal of justice for all species and individuals everywhere. With the help of an admiral who had been previously employed by Section 31, Admiral Charles Doyle, and Commander Nadira, and the USS Aquitania, Kalimar fought Section 31.

The final Orb of the Prophets, the Orb of Creation, was obtained and utilized by Luther Sloan, the head of Section 31. They three battled and destroyed Sloan and the Orb, at the cost of the USS Aquitania and its crew. Admiral Doyle now is believed to command Section 31 in that reality.

The crippled USS Seth and its two occupants, Commander Nadira and Lt. Commander Kalimar, were picked up by the USS Virgo. After examining their situation, Captain Maruu granted them their former positions and ranks on the USS Virgo.
