"So talk to me people," said the Captain. "I want to know everything there is to know about our nice, new friends: the Kirusans. We have to be prepared for another attack."
"Well, Captain," answered Ensign M'Terrn. "We've studied the information downloaded from the Kirusan ship, and we've found that this species call this area of space the Kirusan Breadth. This 'breadth' of theirs spans a total of two thousand light years across. That means that we will spend about three years in their space. They will pose a continuous threat to us. They are a strong people. They have egos the size of the Klingon Empire, and they are disgusted by any and every species other than their own. Their ultimate goal is to be the only species left in the galaxy after a great war promised by their gods, whom they call the Shahtar. Now, the Shahtar is composed three main gods: Loret, Parok, and Ourha."
Ensign Solacetta got up and continued the history lesson. "Apparently, these gods have a vengeful history. In fact, according to myth, they were thrown off their home planet by evil demons who now control the planet where the Shahtar used to live. So, the Kirusans are in a constant war with the followers of these demons. The demon followers are the Vokorhta and the Jenkhapmahtar."
The two science officers sat down and allowed Ensign Trent and Galen to make their discourse. "We've also studied the Kirusan information and found some interesting things about their ship functions." Trent began. "Their ships run with what they call a graviton drive which bends the gravity waves that cross the universe in order to propel themselves through space. The graviton drive serves the same function as a warp drive, but instead of running on a matter/antimatter reaction, Kirusan vessels run on extremely high amounts of radioactivity."
Galen continued. "Their chronoton missiles are also highly radioactive so we did have some trouble disarming it. However, we did and we found that these missiles skip through subspace and go through almost all types of shielding. The Kirusans, however, have never expected to be shot at with their own weapons so they were easily defeated with Lt. K'Lara's maneuvers. We are currently using the missile to find more effective ways of dealing with them"
"Good," Captain Maruu approved. "I want you to prepare this new shielding ASAP. I don't want anymore hull breaches on my ship."
Suddenly, the comm sounded. [Captain, you might want to see this,] said Lt. Lataro who had been left in command of the Bridge. [We may be in for a big surprise.] He was obviously afraid.
Captain Maruu wanted to get to the Bridge quickly. "Dismissed. Start working on those shields." He left the Conference Room and entered the Bridge. What he saw on the viewscreen ran a chill up his spine. The entire surface of a once habitable planet glowed with radioactivity. "What happened?"
Lt. Lataro was still awestruck and shivered as he spoke. "This planet once contained a peaceful race known as the Jeorri. This planet was attacked by the Kirusans. The entire population of the planet, down to the tiniest virus, has been wiped out."
"But chronoton missiles didn't do this! They can't!"
"They didn't, sir. Something tells me we haven't yet seen the full ability of the Kirusans."
"Lieutenant. Something tells me I don't want to see it. Lt. K'Lara, get us out of here: warp eight."
