Maruu approved. "You are very kind. Some of my crew and I will transport to the surface at once." He closed the link and began to leave. "Commander, you have the Bridge. The rest of you, you have the day off."

From the helm, Lt. K'Lara smiled. Finally, after several days of having to fight their way through most of the Gamma Quadrant, they could relax. She almost jumped out of her chair in celebration, but she restrained herself.

I can set my feet upon solid ground again, K'Lara thought with a smile. Fresh air at last.

She shook her head at her thoughts. It had only been a couple weeks, but it seemed like months of being on a vessel. She could say she had cabin fever, but that was ridiculous.

She didn't mind that they looked like Jem'Hadar. Right now, she wanted to set her feet upon a planet and as the saying goes, "stretch her legs." K'Lara entered the turbolift and headed for her quarters. She was going to pick out the right clothes to wear for this little vacation. Her Starfleet uniform just wouldn't do.

She entered her quarters and into her bedroom. She rummaged through her closet. She growled low in her throat when she saw that none of her clothes seemed to catch her eye. They were too boring. One of them, her Klingon uniform, would scare the people. It just wouldn't do. She slammed the door shut and stomped into her living area. She paced a couple times until she saw the replicator. She smiled and went to it.

"Computer, display clothes for a warm tropical climate."

<Processing... Done.>

The first display was of a summer dress complete with a straw hat. K'Lara snarled at it. It was too short and was just not her. She ordered the Computer to display the next costume.

"Hmm." K'Lara stared at the costume for several minutes. It was a dark blue dress that flowed outward. She could image herself walking down the street with the wind blowing the dress behind her. She smiled.

"Computer, replicate display number 1530. Size eight." K'Lara heard the sound of the replicator working. She watched in awe as the dress appeared. She picked it up and marveled at its soft feel. It was of a light material and it flowed freely. She couldn't wait to wear it. Now, she just had to wait for the Captain to announce when they could beam down to the planet. She hoped it wouldn't too much longer.

I can't wait to see Lataro's face when I'm wearing this, K'Lara thought as a impish grin crossed her face. Yes, she was going to have a lot of fun during shore leave.
