Personality

Trance is very much a quiet thinker, always analysing the current situation and coming up with solutions. Always seeing an ambush around every corner, her cautious nature has saved the lives of the Firefly crew on many occasions.

Background

Trance is a virtual mystery to all of the crew of Firefly including herself. She was "rescued" by the Firefly crew from a rogue asteroid. The crew were actually there to pick-up a cargo, but instead found what they thought at first was some kind of deep-space probe, but discovered something totally different.

When salvaged and examined, the crew found Trance in some form of suspended animation and connected to some kind of neural interface. Somehow the interface was keeping Trance's brain active, whilst her body was suspended. When the crew of the Firefly finally figured out how to revive her, Trance emerged but with no memory of who she was or where she came from, she didn't even know her own name. It was t'Pek, the Medical officer onboard Firefly who named her Trance and the name has stuck ever since.

What Trance does have is a highly-evolved sense of self-preservation and she is a skilled fighter, both "hand-2-hand" and with most weapons, both personnel and heavy. Her combat abilities and cautiousness have saved the crew of Firefly on many occasions and she is a valued member of the crew, but her past will always haunt her.

Even with the limited facilities onboard the Firefly, Trance has a very unique biology. She has a circulatory system which resembles that of a Klingon, with two hearts. She is also able to survive in a low-oxygen atmosphere and has a aggressive immune system.
